Sirius Radio Intermitant

I have a 2007 335i E90 with the factory option Sat. radio. This is my first experience w/ Sat. radio. Every so often when I either turn the car on and the Sat. radio is on or turn from the tuner to Sat. none of the pre-programmed channels will come in. All the channels will go to Hits 1/ Channel 001. The reception quality is good. At times I can turn off the radio and then try again a while later and will will be fine and the programmed channels will come back. Sometimes it does not work. Is this normal? If not, is there a fix?

Odd. Do you have comfort access? If so, are both fobs in the car when this happens? I'm wondering if it's flipping over to the preset stations of the other fob, which if they haven't been set, seem to default to Hits 1 (god forbid).

I'd take it to the dealer.

Unless you are alternating key fobs, take it in for a look by the dealer.

I know this thread is a couple of months old, but my 2006 330i has some of the same issues with Sirius. Every few weeks all the channels go to Hits 1 or the radio says "Call 1-800-SIRIUS to subscribe". I took it to the dealer today for an oil change and to see if they could fix the problems with the sat radio. I got a call this afternoon saying they are replacing the Sirius module and re-installing / updating the car's software.....so they have to keep the car overnight. Hopefully it will be fixed for good when I get the car back tomorrow.....until then I'm driving a loaner Jeep

I had the above problems, and the software update (mostly) fixed it for me.

Used to be sometimes I'd get no satellite radio until I'd parked the car for a while and restarted it, now if sirius doesn't work immediately, it will come on within about 30 seconds of starting the car, or immediately if i switch to the tuner and back.

A big improvement from when it occasionally would just not work for a specific car trip.

Yes, my receipt says "Faulty SDARS per SI B 65 07 07" and says that they replaced the Sirius receiver and reprogrammed the car with software version 27.1.2. Everything seems to work fine, but since my problem was infrequent time will tell if it is fixed for good. Thanks for the help.

Ditto for me... a vast improvement over it not working at all until the car went to sleep and was restarted, and yet remains annoying in a car that costs this much.
