How to log and graph the datalogs for the Cobb AP

I had received a few PMs on graphing the logs for the Cobb AP.

I must credit Imperator for the original template - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...postcount=1237

Logging on the Cobb is fairly straight forward using the tutorial video from the Cobb website.

The Cobb video will get you to the point of having a csv file on your computer.

Below are instructions for graphing using Microsoft Excel 2003+:

1. Download one of the attached template files and rename the extension from .txt to .xls. The basic log is used for data logs prior to the Cobb Advanced logging capabilities. The Advanced log is for recent Cobb data logs with additional parameters.

Sample Basic graph:
Name: Basic Graph.png
Views: 8135
Size: 62.7 KB

Sample Advanced graphs:
Name: Advanced Graphs.png
Views: 7458
Size: 81.6 KB

2. Open the attached file in Excel
3. Open the Cobb data log file
4. Order the columns in the Cobb data log to match the order in the template. Add any new columns to the end of the data
5. Collapse the data in the Cobb log by deleting as many rows of the idle time as you would like. I used RPM / Load or boost as a reference.
6. Clear the sample data in the template provided
7. Copy in the data from the Cobb log
8. Update the graph title
9. The graph should now be ready to be copied into a program like MS Paint and saved to an image file for posting on the forums.

There is an option for anyone without MS Excel or people who prefer more of an automated approach. http://www.javalotte.com/csvgraph/ is an automated graphing site for csv files. This is not tune specific to the Cobb and can be used for all tunes (JB, Procede, etc) and the BT tool.

When I try to download the graphing template I get an error stating "The COmpressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted."

Can anyone help me out with another version?

Thanks

for the following updates:
  • Uploaded the template as a text instead of zip file
  • Added a new template for Cobb's advanced logging channels
  • Updated the source data logic to use dynamic ranges, facilitating copy and paste into the templates
  • Saved the templates down to support Excel 2003+
  • Updated instructions provided
