I would not do that unless you have a flux Capacitator (i.e. Back to the Future).

I don't think its good to do that to the car, but I've done it accidentally before and my car runs alright.

How do you accidentally press the start/stop button three times in rapid succession or hold it for 3+ seconds while driving?

The car was braked, and in D, and I shut the engine off thinking it was in P.

no issues while stopped. dont do this while driving, the potential for the steering lock to kick in is scary.
