2008's a decent time period and most of the time it really doesn't matter

don't heat it up; the 3mtape will just get harder to remove.. get a plastic spatula or plastic blade and lift the badges up one by one that way the 3m should all come off in one piece..then clean up what else is left with alcohol and finish the entire process with cleaner wax (this will take away the fading)

i ended up doing it. I heat deff helped, along with bug and tar remover. It is however ghosted on, but you can't really see it, you have to really look at it close

It's possible that's caused by very fine dirt/adhesive buildup around the edges - try claybarring the area.

I plasti-dipped mine. I like it because from far away it appears to be debadged, but up close you can still see the badges. Best of both worlds kind of thing. I used plasti-dip in the case that I didn't like it I could just remove it and either leave the chrome badges on, or debadge, but I think I'll stick with the plasti-dip.
