Changing headlight bulbs
Is this more of a job than it looks, I want to upgrade to brighter bulbs or a HID kit for the xenon bright white look, standard are yellow.

Yep it is. Remove the wheel, wheel liner before you even get to the rear of the headlight.
However getting yourself some Phillips bulbs with a whiter colour temperature will be worth it. HID kits can throw up errors in some cases. May not pass an MOT now either due to not having self levelling issues and light scatter due to the Mr Kipling cake tin stock reflectors. Either remove the wheel and fender liner or remove the bumper. . .
