Uninstalling Cobb AP
I have to take my 535 in for service and I'm wondering if it's as easy to uninstall the Cobb tune as is was to install?
I haven't had any codes or issues since I originally installed the tune. Any secrets or special instructions? |

Nope takes about 10-15 minutes to uninstall. Just plug your cobb into the OBD port and click uninstall. Just as easy to install and uninstall.

It autoclears codes after each flash, whether putting it on, changing maps, or uninstalling.
I also took my car in after having my hpfp throw a limp mode, got a new pump, no problems. |

Yeah I didn't think it left anything. Thanks for clearing that up.

COBB AP "Troubleshoot" menu shows "no codes" but BT scanner shows codes (both fault and shadow) Don't remember the exact codes off hand, but have them saved on my netbook if anyone is curious. IIRC, they were related to COBB re-flashing the stability control/transmission module. I would never own a BMW without a BT Scanner. Hopefully if you own a 335, you can afford to buy the cable. |

When did you see that last. I thought Cobb addressed the issue with the intermodule stuff?

^^ +1 can anyone else confirm what happens with a BT scan after uninstall? I have to go in next week and need to figure out (soon) whether to get my car scanned based on the above.
Surely someone else has tried this.

Here were the Current Fault Codes found with BT Scanner immediately after a COBB AP Uninstall about a month ago. The COBB AP showed "No Codes"
D357: DSC: No message (gearbox 186) Error will not cause a warning light Error is not currently present Test conditions have been completed Timeout 5E19: DSC: Engine management: interface Error will cause a warning light Error is not current present Test conditions have been completed D356: DSC: No message (engine 170) Error will cause a warning light Error is not current present Test conditions have been completed Timeout D355: DSC: No message (engine 169) Error will cause a warning light Error is not current present Test conditions have been completed Timeout D354: DSC: No message (engine 168) Error will cause a warning light Error is not current present Test conditions have been completed Timeout I also usually see the CF33 Transmission Fault Code after the COBB AP flashed the car back to stock (AP uninstalled) Quote:

Yea, reflshed this morning an it say it's only clearing drive train codes. So I guess the update to clear all codes hasn't been put through.

when i got my CEL this is what i did:
1) i checked the codes 2) i deleted the codes 3) uninstalled AP (took less time to uninstall that it did to install) 4) drove around again until the CEL came back on 5) drove to dealer 6) got car fixed 7) drove home and re-installed AP 8) wide open throttled LIKE A BOSS just to make sure everything was working fine |
