BMW scratched up my rims putting new tires on!

I dropped my car off at BMW yesterday to get Michelin Pilot Sport tires put on my car. I didn't inspect their work before I left the dealer, and when I got home I went to go clean my car and noticed that all four rims had deep scratches inside each lug nut hole. I went back to the dealership and spoke with the service manager about this and he said that he didn't QC the car before I picked it up, but would call his boss to seee what they can do about it. I told them nothing would be acceptable but new rims and they could have these onces back and do whatever they want with them. I just bought these rime (style 193M) from this same dealership 10 months ago and they're perfect except for theses scratches they put on them. I'm waiting for them to call me back, but what are my options if they say they won't replace the rims? Thanks!

- By the way, I'm in the military stationed in Germany. Not sure if this changes who I need to contact.

My dealership repairs rims (and did an excellent job on one of mine) for $100-150 each. They should fix all of them for free and quick- that's if they are paintable like mine. You think the dealership, charging as much as they are, would be the most careful of your options... I have found that honestly discount tire by my house takes the best care of my car- I can watch them the whole time and the guys all love to talk to me about my car- Plus free rotations and even lifetime balance when you buy your tires from them, did I mention they match tire rack on prices?

Dealer scratched one of my rims changing a tire ~1 month ago.

They ordered me a new one before they even told me about it.

Had to go back a week later to have it swapped, but not a big problem.

I've heard they do excellent work fixing 'road rash' along the edge of the rims, like above, charging $125/rim. I don't know how successful they'll be fixing the scratches around the lug nuts, but it may be worth a shot.

Four new rims may be a stretch, but I haven't seen the damage. Make sure your car is absolutely spotless when you bring it back to show them the damage, to help justify replacement.

I had mine changed at the dealer - to the 193M's actually also - they somehow managed to destroy one of my style 189's getting the tire off and replaced it with a new one before I got there to pick everything up, didn't even have to ask! The refinishing they usually do ends up being a better quality finish usually than what comes on them and they can match the finish on the 193's, so at minimum they should have them all refinished for you on their dime which would be cheaper for them than replacing them with new.

had the same problem when I wanted to replace my tires a couple of days ago. They told me to come the next day in the morning to talk to the manager. I didn't get a chance to go, but I think I might pass by tomorrow.

my friend had the same problem at a mercedes dealership, he was cool with the service manager, so the dealership just fixed his rims for free, you may want to keep bitching and see the outcome, just my two cents

I gave the dealership a week to decide what to do, and I was just told that I'll be getting a letter sent to me inthe mail from the owner. Not sure if this will be good news or bad news???
