It should - we have not have a MY09 7-series in house to verify, but it should be no different.

hello. I have bought the module and tried to install it. But when I tired to remove the trim (step 1) the whole vents come out as well. Is this how it should be? Can someone post a picture of the removed trim?
Thanks! |

That's fine - the center vents are bolted to the center trim.

Yes, this will work on CiC-equipped X5s.

Possibly, we have a harness fabbed up here as we speak. Unfortunately, this will increase the overall cost of the kit if included.

Not an option at this time, but we'll make the announcement when ready. The current kit is very simple for the DIY type.

With only 2 wires being cut, the install is not invasive at all.

Are there any shops in the Fort Lauderdale area that can do this install?

No one in FL I've worked with personally, but any experienced audio install facility can have this installed in no time at all.

MPEG AVI WMV While raw DVD files will place in the drive, it may or may not have the codecs necessary to play compressed media. However, the CiC will play MP3 and WMV - that may be a sign other formats are compatible.

Installed TVinMotion (smartTV) and Spec.Dock last night.
Wanted to share my installation experience.
When I first looked at the instructions here before purchasing I found it confusing. But, like Tom stated, with everything there in front of you it's clearer. The wiring instructions required re-reading a couple times when I was installing it. Having done it once now I could do it without the instructions probably. Difficulty-wise, if you've never done any electrical work before or aren't comfortable disassembling your car than I wouldn't say this install is easy. Otherwise it's fairly straightforward. While the connectors were a nice addition, they were frustrating to use, there's not a lot of slack on the wires or room to work behind the CD/DVD unit once everything's reattached. I do have the additional wiring of the Spec.Dock and Multimedia kit/backup camera back there too though. Several times the wires would come undone when moving the CD/DVD unit around (leading to some loud cursing ). I did end up twisting a pair of the spliced wires together and in retrospect probably should've done it for all the wires to be safe. Fortunately, after putting everything back in place, it worked. |

I tried AVIs and the DVD player didn't recognize them. I also tried converting the AVIs to DVD but it didn't work either. The video was compressed into the top half of the screen and the bottom was just green.
Has anyone had any luck with any video other than a regular DVD? Quote:
