michelin pp2 or michelin ps3?

Hi guys,
I have finally decided to get rid of my rfts, i m confused between these 2 michelin tyres, the PP2 & PS3. I know the michelin PS3 have a soft sidewall comapre to the rivals but hows the PP2 sidewall? are they as soft as the PS3? The roads here in india are bad & wanted a tyre with a stiffer sidewall offcourse i dont want RFTS confused between these too. need help. I cant ask help in the tyre section on this forums as these are euro model tyres that you don't get in usa where most of the members in this forum are from.

Thanks..

Michelin Pilot Preceda 2 tyres aren't sold here anymore. For the Australian market they were replaced by the PS3. In my understanding, the PP2 was a Japanese made tyre for asian/pacific region countries. It seems to be aimed more at wet weather performance than some other performance tyres. I used the Pilot Preceeda 2 before on my car. I think the side walls were stiffer than most, but it might have been because I had the XL (extra load) version. The tyres are good, but I'm not sure if there is a reason to choose then in preference to the PS3. I never used the PS3, so I can't comment on them.

Ya thats what's mentioned about the pp2 being for asian regions. Which tyres you running now on your car? & how you compare them to the pp2.

Thanks.

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 assymetric on the 325i, and Michelin PSS on the 135i. Both 17" size. I got the PSS 17" ordered from Tirerack - That size is actually made in US.

Both are probably overkill for what I use them for. I think the PSS have a softer feeling through the steering than the Goodyear, but since its on a different car its very hard to say. The Goodyears feel a bit more sticky than the Pilot Preceeda 2 I used before, but they are more expensive tyres. I'll probably consider another set of Goodyears next time.

If you live in a hot climate, maybe you should think about the tyre wear and choosing tyres that are most suitable for the temperatures. I have heard comments in Australia that US and European tyres wont last as long in this country because of the temperature.

Michelin PSS is not available over here i have a choice between pp2 & ps3. I m leaning towards the pp2 cause of the stiffer sidewall..

I've rocked PS3's and PSS. PS3's had long lasting tread as well as awesome grip.

Yes tirerack plus shipping of cause.
They must be slightly bigger profile the P Zeros as i have 15mm spacers on the back and when i put the Michelins on the tyre rubs the guards when hit heavy bumps with no load, so i have ordered 12mm spacers and will try them.
Is there going too be a day where, stop spending money improving looks and mods on our beloved BMWs.
