Life of BMW Performance Exhaust
Hi Guys,
I know this question warrants a somewhat "it depends" answer. Humidity, salt on roads etc. The reason I ask is that there are used ones popping up here and there and I want to know what to expect out of a used one. |

well to indirectly answer your question.....
shorter trips is what affect most exhaust systems most. short trips = more condensation = more water. the shortness of the trip sometimes does not allow all of the water to burn up and exit the system, letting it pool up inside. |

if it's stainless, it should last for a very long time. at least as long as a normal factory exhaust system. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it, assuming it's stainless.

I guess it does all go back to "it depends" but the variables are a lot clearer now. To have a clearer idea of water build up inside and such I need to see what the inside of an exhaust system looks like and the way they work.
Anyone have an article or link to some good reading? |
