I think that is too brown for the real colour. Remember that these kind of images look diffrent on diffrent screens, CRT, TFT etc.

I agree. I find that while I had high hopes for Terra, in person it is a bit of let down. It's washed out a bit...not as rich as I'd like.

Again, I have high hopes for Coral Red and Saddle Brown (as I lament the loss of Natural Brown from the e46).

I find some of the interior colors that I really like by themselves do not mix as well as I would like with other components of the interior. For example, if you like the M-sport steering wheel, shift knob, and e-brake, you are stuck with a grey that has to mesh with the rest of the interior. Hard to do with terra, black, wood -- now you have too many confused parts. I guess that is why I like the whole M-sport interior package, it all fits together so well, the anthracite headliner, charcoal alcantara, shadow blue cloth, grey knob, etc. Seemless, and yet interesting. The ZHP package was similarly well done for the E46. I really hope we get something like that in the USA market this fall (MY 2007).

I disagree, i dont think your picture BMW exec looks true to terra, it looks like the brown saddle color for the new e92. I honestly dont think its possible to take a true to color picture of terra.

Exactly, it looks different in different light; just like Sparkling Graphite.

That's why I like the two colors together.

It's very different.

Another nice thing about Terra is the stiching is a little different color and stands out.

True, Terra can't be beat but if you want to be a little unique and get some contrast you don't see with Burl, go for the Poplar.

The etymology of the word 'terra' comes from Latin and means land. What is land? Dirt. What color is dirt? Most commonly, brown.

The easiest way to capture its color is to change the white balance options of the camera.

Clay is also considered dirt and what color is clay?

Most commonly, orangy brown.

Terra also stands for Terracota (orangy brown).

And like Terracota it changes color.

Actually, terra does not stand for terracotta (not cota). Its etymology in Latin stands as it is - earth/land, and simply that. Cotta means baked. So terracotta means baked earth/land and of course, baked earth/land is more orange/light than typical earth/land-brown.

Then you can go so far as to say there's all kinds of earth/land. Black dirt, light dirt, what constitutes dirt?

EDIT: It's analogous to me claiming red is orange because red-orange looks orange. Makes absolutely no sense at all.

I also agree.....another great picture is of Asiann's last picture of the door. Down to the last shade...and I thought it was impossible. But your computer screen is also going to make a difference!

What are you, LATIN?

You're from Cal.

Look at the Terracotta roofs.

That's what the leather looks like.

8% of Caucasian males are red/green color blind. So if you're white, and you're carping among others here in this thread, it's time you check out the doctor and see if you really are color blind.

I just picked up my SG Terra with Burl and love it!

RGRAY I believe you have come very close with your photo here! Perhaps slightly darker in tone when seen in person. But I agree with the comment that just like SG, Terra changes depending on the lighting (although I guess most colors do).

The cabin of the E90 is just so inviting with a Terra interior.

I couldn't agree more and I see you got the xi.

The Terra is very sporty (sort of the color of a football or basketball) and the Walnut Burl is luxurious.

IMO, the best of both worlds.
