Fascination3 - anyone been?

Just wondering if anyone has been to the fascination 3 event? (flogging the 335 coupe and convertible, 3 series touring and 3 series sedan around the race track at your dealer's expense). apparently an australia wide event, according to the blurb.

:mad:I did not get an invite for this. Two weeks ago on my visit to the dealer, my sales rep asked me if I would attend the fascination. I told her that I did not get an invite.

The next day the marketing department at the dealer, contacted her and informed her and me that there were no more available place.

Danielt: I received my first BMW magazine today.

Vgr02 - maybe ask your dealer when they are holding their Fascination3 event, and ask to be put on the invite list

It's pretty clear that session participants will be divided into three groups and participate in each activity for an hour. Not a bad way to spend afew hours.

Guys ..... I've just come back from the first event and let me tell you your in for an absolutly AWSOME time. Started with the Shalome (or however it's spelt) where there were 320I and 320D to run in. Next there was the skid pan and last was the paced laps in the 325 and 335's. NOW I know what you 335 guys are talking about!!!!! Got the 335I up to 150Klms tailing David Brabhams in the M3. Each stage had groups of 24 and lasted about an hour each. Seriously good fun and further proof of the quality behind the cars we drive. BMW hospitality was absolutly superb. Well done BMW and thank you ..... Smile from ear to ear at the moment.

Enjoy all ....

Edit ... Just like to add that none of the cars had over 1000klms on them and one 335 only had 370klms on the clock. All VIC registered. Tyres were allready looking shagged by the end of event 1. Be on the lookout if buying a approved used BMW after all the events run !!!!

Sounds like so much fun VGR. OK..... where are the pics?

How did the 320d feel compared to the 320i?

Was it David Brabham or Geoff Brabham?

Cheers.

Yep ... thumbs up to BMW for putting on a great event.

The 320I was more responsive to the 320d. From the moment you put your foot down, the I was moving where the d had a bit of a think. When you were off and on the gas pedal, the I had it over the d. My biggest surprise was in the difference in handling from the sports to non sports packaged cars. The difference is worth the extra dollars.

I think it was Geoff Brabham come to think of it but I could be confused... it was one of the Brabhams.

I've come away thinking that even though my 320I is the poor cousin of the 3 series line up, it will still be a great car to take to the track as it has the sports package. I now really want to do a track day with it. If I get another set of wheels as my every day set, I will keep these wheels for my track day rubber.
