my sti got hit by truck at the GWB too. Guy hit the side of my car with those huge spokes that stick off the truckers wheels. Had to replace the quater panel and some other parts.

did you go through insurance? Called my insurance and they are saying I'm at fault because "the other driver was established in his lane"...

New bumper. Good excuse to get M-tech bumper which will run you around $800. Maybe get a new quad exhaust while you're at it.

You should have tried harder. Just the way you stated that made me think, uh-oh, the truck isn't at fault. Good luck with it.

Yeah I was thinking about getting the M-tech bumper...plus I think I need a new quarter panel. SMH....I wanted to kill the guy when he hopped out of his truck...but it's a learning experience...have to be more patient next time.

When merging in front of a penske truck (my lane was narrowing).

Not sure why you wanted to "kill the guy" when you were the one who didn't yield while merging, but in any case, the repair is going to cost more than you expect since your car is jet black. Black and white are the two hardest colors to match so the shop will probably have to do a lot of blending. $4-5K is probably about right. Please come back and let us know what the final tally was after the work's complete.

Your lane coming to an end means you yield, not the other guy. Plus, he was in a huge Penske truck. WTF were you thinking?

My insurance covered it but the truck didnt stop so there was no proof of exactly what happened. From what it sounds like the exact same thing happened to me, i was in the trucks blind spot when the lanes merged and i got hit

lol...its the best way to deal with these situations (IMO)...no one got hurt and I threw 2 screws in it so it won't drag until I get it fixed.

I looked over the estimate and only the bumper isn't OEM...My brother works for Mercedes-Benz of Manhatten I'm taking it there for the repairas far as I know they only use OEM (hopefully they'll give me a break on the out of pocket part)...

Thats the plan as soon as this ordeal is over with...when I originally got the car I was just looking for the lowest rate per month(came back to haunt me)...everything else was 700-800 a month.
