Agreed, you get more by eating a light dinner and not having a passenger lol. That is a nice power curve for a stock pull tho.

Not even worth calling it a tune. I've gained more than that between consecutive pulls.

Only thing the PBX was good for is the throttle remap. I can't say I felt any HP difference when I had it.

AA Tune or Eurochaged + 3 stage intake manifold is the way to go if you want see some difference on a 328/325.

There's little difference with the 330. I got an AA Tune and sure I can feel some difference but not $500 worth of difference. Out of the factory 330's come tuned up, there's not much room for improvement unless you start spending big bucks like the N52 track cars. The money to gain ratio would be way off you can say.

Money to gain ratio on a BMW.
The best bang for your buck is to rip the soul from the car and do an LSx swap.

i had an x3 loaner the other day and was impressed by its handling. could definitely see going to the x3 28i msport in the future. a mild drop on it and lighter wheels could make it a nice car. the 38mpg was a nice touch too.

If you're car is running out of breath after 5000rpm (from your previous comment), it's not a tune you need, but a tune up.

If you would of said that under 5000rpm the car feels slow, than I would of said that's just normal for a 330i and to fix it probably that a tune will give it a little bit more torque at the lower rpms, so it's going to feel faster.

For the other user mentioning car & driver times, don't forget that those are usually done with a car having the sport package, so heavier/bigger wheels/tires...., same in my case ran my automatic 14.4@98 with 18" aftermarket heavy wheels, not the stock 17's. Again, there's no reason why a stock manual with a good driver couldn't do a flat 14's on the 1/4, and with a few bolt-ons/tune get close to the mid 13's.... might not be super fast, but in my book it isn't that slow either.

I probably just need an exhaust and the sound might make it feel faster.

I have your exact car my no means its fast but catless headers , resonator delete, one gut your stock exhaust or bmw perf , intake work and 3 stage manifold lighter wheels with some nice sticky tires, suspension work new high full throttle bodies valve your it would be quite a car but money $$$ that being said if you were to do that buy a new car. At the most exterior enhancements some exhaust house light intake work wheela and some coils or spring/ strut set and call it a day

That engine is still alive and well in the 128. I am driving one of those coupes as a loaner right now. Negative with that package is the sluggish auto trans (6 speed) but I discovered it has sport mode and that improves the overall drive a lot. Nothing like my 6MT though I have been interested to see just how much e90 stuff is still in use in the 128.

I have a 2007 BMW 530i with an SMG transmission. Last year in December Active Auto had a special promotion and I ended up purchasing their tune for about $100. I could not justify spending $500-$700 for a tune on an engine known to be tuned well from factory, but the $100 was just too good to pass up. I am not sure if it had anything to do with the type of transmission or not, but I did not feel any difference in the drivability of the car. I wouldn't call it a waste, but I would say that it was not enough for me to feel the difference and I think that was because of the manual transmission and being able to control my own shifts. I have heard from various other people with the n52 325i and 328i and both owners stated the loved the tune and they could notice the difference in the power. Take it for what its worth.

I also have a 2007 530 (XiT wagonm 6MT). I really like the change in my e93 N51 tune, but don' tplan to spend the same money on the already nicely tuned 255hp 530 (same as 330). Just not the potential for much improvement through computer alone. I would love to bring the 5 up to the 3's handling, but that is a whole different $$ range and would never really get there.
