Rev For Iphone Is Done!!!

Four months of waiting.....

All --

We are happy to announce that Apple has approved Rev and it is now
available on the iPhone App Store.

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/M...302420711&mt=8

We will be listening intently to feedback as it comes in from you.
Please let us know your experiences.

We can't emphasize this enough: your feedback will directly influence
the future of Rev. If you encounter problems, have feature requests,
suggestions, or more, please contact the DevToaster founders directly
at founders@devtoaster.com. We are planning to stay very active with
updates to Rev and Rev Lite in the near future to support new features
and fix any problems our users report.

We are planning a Rev Lite update in the near-term that will allow
users to further test compatibility of their vehicle before purchasing
the full version of Rev, as well as optionally providing ways to
provide useful debugging information back to DevToaster. Also on the
short-term list for Rev are some enhancements to the user interface
and better compatibility for diesel vehicles.

We will be soon be posting a user manual to the Rev product web site
so users know what to expect in terms of software and hardware
configuration options.

Thank you to everyone for your patience, support, and enthusiasm! We
hope you love Rev as much as we do!

Regards,

Ryan Bruels & Jay Jones

For some reason I can't get the firmware to update despite restarting the iphone and unplugging the module. Please post if you are successful updating the firmware.

This looks great. I am new to this and I hope you guys can answer some questions:
total investment:
- software 40 euro
- ELM can Wlan 190 euro

Accurate turbo pressure will work on a stock car and flashed car but not work with a piggy back? will other information (IAT etc) be accurate on a piggy back car?

More details please!

How did you update?

Did you adjust the port number?

I can connect to the ELMCam, but the data is very laggy and definitely not in real time.

Well, it seems our cars provide a lot of data and the data logging is going to be great. Unfortunately, as an early adopter my firmware needs updating which for some reason won't freaking work!!! Yes I'm frustrated!

anything that isn't altered by the piggy will be fine. I'd go and test it on my car, but right now my car isn't here

I'm having issues too. It keeps saying "timed out" after a while of updating. Is that what happened to you?

I followed the instructions that came with the hardware, changed it to a static ip... yadda yadda yadda. But then when i go to test in safari, the 192.168.0.74... it doesn't ever load. So clearly there is a network issue.

Also, did you guys change the device IP/port in the update screen? I changed it after it wasn't working... what was the original ip/port?

Yep, the time out issue. I did not change the IP/port update screen under "Device Connectivity" screen. It defaults to 192.167.0.74, port 23.

But you can connect right?

I assume we both have the first run of hardware, so there may be an issue.

The FAQ suggests restarting your iphone for firmware timeouts, but that hasn't helped. I even restored my iphone to OEM specs 2.2 and still no dice.

Bluetooth off etc.

It seems to began communication re red and yellow LEDS flashing intermittently then the red light (receive light) stops.

Yeah, it connects to the network.. but testing it by trying to connect to 192.168.0.74 in safari doesn't work
