Wow.. that was quick Soon a PM to doctordel. Seems he already has 4 people down for South Florida. You'd make #5. Hopefully that is not too long of a drive for you.

That might be 6 now ; I just sent a PM to doctordel; I'm in S. FL. But, you know I've been fairly active on your Xede thread here and on the Xede thread on Bimmerfest as well. I guess you may have to come to S. FL or at the very least, ship out your first Xede-only kits to S. FL. I should be taking delivery on my 335i Coupe in about 2 weeks, around 11/15/06.

hey shiv, will you be increasing boost on turbos in the future? how much psi do you think this 3.0 can safely hold ?
+1 better handling can be solved by putting the m suspension on with LSD, if they offer it in future 335i coupes.

Phoenix/Chandler area here. I know of a couple dyno shops around here that I would recommend. I've had at least 15 cars on the dyno (yes, I'm sick) so let me know what we need to do! Rounding up people here will not be an issue either!

Shiv,
There are definately a fair ammount of people down in Houston who would love to have ya come. I bet I could get other people from around Texas to come too.

The video is amazing!!!! Think about really pushing it especially with some better tires - thats going to be insane. Shiv I am very impressed!

I felt so inspired with all these recent acceleration videos that I just came back from making my own little video. Since it's my own car, I took the liberty to shift aggressively.

Still couldn't get a good launch unfortunately (road was cold and slick). In fact, the first launch in the video, with DTC full off, was aborted due to complete lack of traction- even launching at 2800rpm... yeesh.

The second "launch", with DTC left on, was essentially a typical roll-on (like you would do when taking off from a traffic light during normal daily driving). It starts at the ~15 second mark. And indicated 100mph is reached by the ~24 second mark. That equals sub-10 sec 0-100mph run with a less-than-optimal ~5.0sec 0-60. This things a quick little stinker!!

I was just looking at shiv's video through a program called virtualdub which gives you per frame control with milisecond timings, but i wasn't to certain of when to start the 0-60 timing, from when the revs start heavily increasing or when the speedo needle moves from 0?

Anyway if you do it from when the speedo moves from 0, when the rpm is at 2400, and cut the video when it is at the frame where the needle hits 60, you get 4.2 seconds! You get 100mph at 9.4 seconds.

If you do it from the start of the heavy rpm increase (i.e. from 1400rpm) you get a 0-60 of 5 seconds and 100mph at 10 seconds.

Sorry for being overly geeky

I have a question. Maybe it was answered before. If so, I apologize... but this thread is too long and I couldn't find it

How will this work on a steptronic 335. Would this be too much strain on an automatic or will it be able to handle it? I know that automatics are known to break quicker.. or so I heard.

If it's ok then you guys can count me in ... in the Chicago area

Man that thing just gets up there... look at the speedo then look away your already at 60! Crazy. Great job shiv. Out of curiousity with you shifting a little more aggressively how did the tranny/clutch feel? Was there any slippage? Thanks!

I remember reading earlier that the automatic can actually handle more power. I think the answer is somewhere in this thread. If its not here, google "vishnu 335i" and read the threads that come up too. Its great reading even if you find it here first.

Yep, there should be no issues with the Steptronic.

It felt just fine. In fact, grabbed so well that it even chirped the rear tires going into 3rd gear.
