I wonder what percentage of M owners end up modding their cars...?

Supposidly Sunoco uses 94 octane for their 93 labled gas.

Tuning Trip update:

Looks like I'll be in San Antonio (TX) the first weekend in December tuning a bunch of cars for a customer out there. I might have enough time in my dyno tuning schedule to install and tune Xedes on one or two 335s. If anyone is interested, just PM me. First come, first serve.

Cheers

You are the man shiv. That is very very impressive. 4.2 with just an xede and a prototype exhaust is rediculous. I cant wait to have that soon.

I've got a few questions. First, are you replacing the diverter valves with Bailey or Forge DV or using bov's? Second, the clutch. Is the stock clutch capable of handling all this extra power? I'm not so sure and I hate messing with clutches. Third, heat soak. Is the intercooler sufficient for this type of power? Or are you going with a front mount? Fourth, hoses. Remembering back to my Jetta days, the inlet hose would expand. Many replaced with Samco hoses. See any benefit here?
I'm currently driving an '02 M5 but an very interested in this car..with mods. I can get back to my screen name...boost...I used to drive a modded Jetta. It was chipped with a DP and full exhaust from Milltek, Bailey DV's, SSK and Eibach pro kit. I had a ton of fun with the car but it was a bit too small and I don't like front wheel drive.

There is no issue with the clutch or any part of the drivetrain and its already taken quite a bit of beating in my hands. I haven't replaced any OE component other than the exhaust. Still running stock diverter valves with no plans to upgrade to anything else (at this moment at least). If it aint broke, don't fix it

Yea, but thats only the forums. You cant judge all M3 owners from the mod enthusiasts you see on the web.

I'm drooling reading all about the 335 tuning updates and crying that I've 'only got' a 330. Sure wish there was something we lowly 330 owners could do to get some added power from tuning. Don't get me wrong, the stock 225bhp is fine (for me anyway) for a daily driver and I'll live with my car that I do love very much. But DAMN if I wouldn't be willing to spend some $$ to bump this to 300+bhp (much less more...).

What do ya say Shiv? I even live in north San Ramon (just off crow canyon) for ease of access!

Chris, give Shiv your car! lol...

There are a few people who might even chip in towards your cost to get shiv's work done... Since you'd be the R&D car, you'd have HIGH costs.

Shiv,
I have an exhaust related question; in relation to the build up of 2jzgte cars, will there be any single side production exhaust sold for this car in say 3"-3 1/2" form? The only downside I see is maybe an inch or two of ground clearance lost and and extra "hole" in the bumper for a pipe thats no longer there.

I would assume sticking with dual exhaust will only hurt performance because of more weight and an assumed y pipe that would restrict flow just a little bit.

Or does BMW run seperate downpipes from both turbo's out to the back of the car? thus making them "functional dual's"?

I have not seen any underbody pics of the car so thats why I am asking but most I-6 cars have a single collector before the cats to the exhaust.

The simple answer is lots of M3 owners Mod, very very few supercharge since it costs 15-20K on top of the hefty price most paid for their e46 M3. Not sure what this has to do with the thread though ?

Shiv, could you update us on whether or not you have done any Xede only installs in NoCal yet? If not I'm shocked NoCal isn't representing because I know if your shop were in SoCal or several other locales you would have folks lined up at your door.
