The time has come!
Hey guys after 4 years I decided to change my tires because they are pretty much worn..
I have the 193M wheels and the dimensions of the OEM tires are: Bridgestone Potenza 225/40 R18 for the front Bridgestone Potenza 255/35 R18 for the rear I made a thought about getting basic tires and not runflats because some say that you get better feel and steering with standard tires.. : What do you recommend?

You will definitely get a much more comfortable ride with non-RFTs. Maybe time to get some non-RFTs and upgrade to 19s
Make sure you also get AAA or something, (incase your BMW Assist has already expired) and perhaps a tire repair kit just incase |

I've never regretted switching to non-runflat. With non-runflats you will save money in comparison to runflats and reduce weight of your tires.
There are plenty of recommendations on this site for tires. You can also go to the forums's sponsor, tirerack.com to see reviews of tires, including how people score their tires by attribute. Here's an example for a highly rated, very popular summer tire: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ot+Super+Sport They also have a long list of educational write-ups on tires and wheels. http://www.tirerack.com/about/techcenter.jsp Per previous post, if you go non-runflats, decide what you need for an emergency. I carry a tire repair kit (air inflator, tire sealant, tire plugs, small tools for plugs) and I learned how to plug a tire (not difficult). |

My bmw assist expired so no worries I am now searching for a spare tire to put in the trunk and I have a question. Does it have to be 18 inch the same as the wheels or it doesn't matter?

I have been using non-run flats on my 2009 335IC for 1.5 years now and the ride is much smoother. Never had a flat so far. I use the Michelin Pilot Super Sport in a staggered set-up.
