When i remove exhaust and dp , i have started the car and observate the flappy door, and impossible to see the phenomen.
When car is on , whithout accelerate so at 650 rpm, the flappy door is open, and when you accelerate progressively, the flappy door close...? I constat also that when you touch the flappy door with a finger of your hand there is a little moving on this flappy door, and it result a little sound which is the same that i hear ???? Sorry for my poor english level |

Kiteboy. My wg were replaced under gte. to the upgraded ones. The install notes had lots of wg and vacuum calibration notes. If they didn't calibrate your valves you have an issue.

I believe the rattling is significantly worse with DP's because 1) There are no cats that might help filter some of that sound out, so the rattling bounces through the DP similar to the way sound bounces off the walls in your bathroom (acoustics)... and 2) there is no flex joint like there are in the stock DP's making a more rigid pipe that's also better for bouncing sounds through the exhaust. Honestly, there is really no fix for this at this time. If you are in warranty, I would strongly suggest you take your issue to BMW and they should replace the turbos... so far I've had my turbo's replaced once (2009), but the rattling came back after only a few months and I had the wastegates adjusted (2011)... but the wastegate rattling came back... so seems like BMW is only able to offer a temporary fix... The other option is to get PROcede which has helped some in certain cases... or upgrade your turbos (Rob Beck)... or upgrade to single turbo (which is my long-term plan... maybe in 3 years)...

See my post waste gatte rattle issue , you will understand that i mean....
Like you my turbo have been replaced etc....so it seems really strange that rattle is already here? I think the only solution is to put R&B turbos, or LOBA? |
