Rechargable batteries (for the home)
Anyone got any recommendations for rechargable batteries for the home. Now with 2 kids we seem to spend a small fortune on batteries for all their toys, etc, so might invest in decent rechargables.
Noticed things have moved on a bit since I was a kid, there are now powerful batteries that last twice as long, but are obviously more expensive. Think I'll need a range of different sized batteries. Anyone got any tips or even what to avoid. Sorry for the random question but I really don't know where to start.

eneloop or gp recyko.
Both can be had for fairly cheap on eBay. Make sure you buy the ones that don't lose charge so quickly when not in use. |

Any idea how I tell which do and don't - I guess all the marketing blurb will claim their's are the best

It will say retains 80% charge over a year or something. I think all the Eneloop and GP Recyko ones have this anyway. It's older type rechargeables that used to be quite rubbish for game controllers, remotes etc. as they'd lose their charge when sat around.

Ansmann. I use them for my 2 x Canon flash guns.
