yes, the oem system is absolute sux...

just beware that our deck pull out 15w x 4. so there is not really a potential for a big upgrade unless you wanna spend money on amp and stuff.

I just recently order 2 set of the Infinity Reference 1041i which is 4" 2 way coaxial. I believe they will sound alot better once i swap them with the oem for the front and the rear. As for the sub under the seat i have choose 6.5" USD audio they are 30w sub which i believe the bass will improve over to the OEM rubbish.

I'm not going into crazy mod like my old e46 where as i having dls iridium split and dls ultimate amp. For the E90 i would like to go low profile.

But still by changing the speakers will make your e90 sound heaps better.

If you have any question please ask and i will help u if i know.

i bought it in Malaysia when i'm back for holiday. They cost abt AUD100 pair. I'm stilll consider whether i want to put them in or change them because i'm 50:50 whether i want to put in big money on the amp and sub and custom install....if i wanna go for custom install then those coaxial will not suit my purpose. I can sell them to you if u interested.

Cheers !

i want to change my speakers too...ive got the stock oens in there, front and rears, could i clarify that all 4 of the spekers are 4" in size?? Man thats tiny!!! i wont bother changing the subs under the seats but I wouldnt mind chnaging the speakers to something else.

Can we get 3 way 4" speakers? or no point.... better with an amp and sub in boot?

For 4" there is no point having 3 way coaxial. Infact it is very hard to find one. The the front and the rear are 4" and they only allow 55mm depth. That make the speaker choice even harder.

But by changing the speakers alone will already make improvement on the sound. U also find not many 4" speaker around in the market.

ah, i see...... ok... im starting to notice the sound quality in my car now and it isnt very good im realizing. At time of sale, i couldnt afford to get the Logic 7 after getting the MSports kit and sunroof and bigger wheels so I opted not for the upgrade.... but now am hoping that I can somehow upgrade the speakers without having a huge job of pulling out the headunit, getting an amp etc. I am not considering changing the headunit cos of bluetooth and controls on steering wheel... so i'll be sticking with just changing little things (if possibe)

I must admit though, i love my car but i really hate BMW sometimes. At hoe they make EVERYTHING so damn brand specific that I cant modify or upgrade anything about the car. Its not always a warranty issue and getting it void with changes, but sometimes just the sheer fact that speakers/ headunits etc are standard shape/ sizes so I can just go to a shop and get a better one. ARGH!

I've changed a speaker system in my BMW and it's not a huge job if you have it done by good professionals. If they do it right you will pay 4 or 500 and leave the car with them for the day and you will get it back with a great setup. I had 2 amps added to mine (4 way for the speakers and 2way for the custom 12" sub) and replaced all four speakers - they did a great job putting it in and taking it out so it wasn't a hassle. Sounded awesome too, but I'm a little over car stereos now as regardless of how much you spend you're limited by the poor acoustics you get inside a car.
