as long as they are the correct width for the caliper/pad combo, and the center of the rotor is in the same location, absolutely.

It would need to be less than 348mm.

New calipers, rotors and pads would make this kit approaching the price of a proper BBK, but with a much smaller rotor - 340 x 30 vs. 355x 32.

Sorry I am just confused because there is so much conflicting info about this. why would it need to be less than 348 mm? couldn't you bolt up 370mm discs as long as they fit the hub?

Not with the standard F30 335i caliper.

I am talking about the M performance brake kit. I have no interest in the standard caliper. Someone said alipna said they are direct fitment in the front, then on a german forum I saw pics of them mounted on the front of an e90 with 19" is wheels. Problem is I have so much info from so many sources it all jumbles together, half is talking about stock f30 calipers others about the BMW performance kit and others the M performance kit...

M performance kit caliper and rotors would be okay, but you will need a minimum of 19" wheels.

F30 335i calipers may be okay with 340mm rotors, but that defeats the purpose of upgrading the caliper. A proper BBK would be better here.

Sorry for redundancy but I want to triple check this before I start spending money.... SO the M Performance Brake Kit(as referenced in link below) would be a direct bolt up with 370mm discs and M performance calipers correct? Can you confirm this for both front and rear, or only one of the two? If this is the case it seems as though it would be a nice go between for stock brakes and a $7000 brembo kit as they should be better than stock as long as you are running 19" wheels correct?

Nothing has been confirmed. We have only done R&D with the OE F30 335i brakes.

Haha wait, it's not confirmed but you said it would be ok? I am not looking to hold you to anything here, but what is the answer, because those are two different ones.

Re: F30 M performance brake kit

I found this comment interesting:

•A DSC retrofit encoding must be performed via ISTA/P after installation of the BMW M Performance sports brake system.

Why do you suppose a DSC retrofit "encoding" must be performed? Is it because of the larger diameter rotors? How do others get around this when installing BBK's?

I have seen this as well, it's one of the other avenues I am investigating in regards to viability of the swap. Seems to be a minor adjustment to dtc, nto positive yet though

Yea probably a flag that gets set telling the car it has the M performance brake kit installed and more optimized DSC settings are used tuned for this kit, this is the quality you get from OEM, I doubt this really matters, haven't seen this for e90 and tons of cars run BBK's and other brake modification no issues.

I am very interested in this too. I have 19" VMR 701 wheels on my 335 E92, if the F30 kit fits in, I am game, for sure. Have you found out an answer to your question?

Reviving the thread...

There is a thread on here from a member in Slovakia:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=828362

that retrofitted the front M Performance brakes on his E9x. The calipers required some machining to clear 18" wheels. 19" should fit with no problem.

The rears, unfortunately, won't fit. So we'd have to see if it is possible to buy just the front capers/rotors/pads.

Also, anyone have any idea why the rotors are "dimpled" instead of cross drilled?

I'd like to see a definitive "won't fit" post for the rears. The only thing I've read is people guessing there's a mismatch with the handbrake drum, but the rear drums on E90 and F30 335i are the same diameter (185mm). They even use the same brake shoe part number: 34216771430.

Without getting into really boring details, as for the dimpled rotors, they are less likely to develop stress cracks than true cross-drilling. As popular as cross-drilling is, it's completely pointless. The only real benefit is allowing somewhere for water to quickly escape when braking in the wet. As you may or may not know, cross-drilling was developed to eliminate pad float by providing holes for the gases, that older pad materials used to give off, to escape. Modern pads don't give off gases like the older materials, like asbestos.

Dimpling acts more like slotting that provides a benefit without vastly weakening the rotors. Personally I think just slotting is the way to go, but I'm sure they know something i don't.

These are the same f30 m performance brake kit that this thread started upon. It's plug and play for clearance on 19 inch wheels.

Interesting...
I was told this one is available since years but not optional for US market E92. I have a car imported from Atlanta and ETK (Real OEM) does not give the option for my car but for the EU models the garages are building it on for years.
I will look up for the part number of this one, F30 brake should be: 34112221445.

this is the F30:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/BMW-F30-M-PER...item3cd0a80d8f

I read both threads on the subject. This and the guy's from Slovakia. It should be the same system I found. You are right.

However, it does not sound good to me. For a price of ~ € 2-2,5k I had a dream of getting a set for all wheels.
Also, I am not confident of upgrading only front brakes. Somebody indicated it is not good for the brake balance.

Right... An upgrade for all four corners would be better. But if there is no upgrade for the rears, perhaps you could still make it work, by using different brake pad materials (more aggressive pad on the rear).

Also the front brakes will be more fade resistant, not necessarily more friction. It would certainly beat stock calipers that fade after a few laps on the track.
