damn bro how bad is the damage...this is why i HATE snow...today i was also coming home from school and i was on RT 21 up here in North Jersey.. The snow just looked like sand on the highway barley even an inch and all of a sudden I felt the car twist for a split second and luckily I caught it and dsc did its job.. If it wasn't for that I would've probably been kissing the divider. I drive home and was like I aint leaving the house today..!!

That sucks to hear dude. I'm so happy I got an XI now. Driving around here in Philly back from work was nuts.

starting off, yes, dtc allows wheel spin to get you unstuck. once you're moving you want DSC on for max stability and traction control in the snow.

from the OP's description of the crash, it sounds like he might have summer performance tires on (like stock sport package tires) and not all seasons or snow tires.

oof, nothing is going to save you on ice other than snows (possibly not even those, without studs or chains)

I drove home today from work at 5pm. Coming home from Paramus via the Parkway South and later 80W, my car started fishtailing everywhere, icebocks formed on my windshield, and when I put on my flashers while driving, everyone started giving me the finger when they passed me on the highway.

dude... people aren't dumb as you think. 10mph will not get you spun out. i was going 40-50 with very mild acceleration and i was fine driving 40 miles back home. it has to be driving skills. btw, im on summer tires as well. will be driving another car tmr for work

there're laws of physics...10mph and skid for 50 feet?? lol though i do feel sorry for you. get some better tires and slow down next time. accelerate with 3rd gear instead of 1 or 2

just fyi, when you skid, steer and leave the gas or brake pedals alone.

Seriously, 10 mph will spin you out if youre turning and you dont counter the fishtail properly on ice. Driving on snow, it wouldnt have been a problem, but i've been in the OPs position, I just managed to get her straight before things got ugly. When it comes to ice, there's nothing stopping you from spinning if you're already turning. Bad luck, OP. Hope everything works out for you. Take the bus next time.

well also when i went to accelerate i just burned out like the tieres spun so i guess the mph was more then 10 mph so when the tieres did catch they gave it a lil bost ..i have no idea but bro no joke i was going mad slow......and .i was in drive i dnt have stick.....
