Traction Control

Does anyone know if the traction control/DSC on an E90 works at all speeds or just below a certain speed?

if it is turned on it works at all speeds. if it is turned off the system will turn it back on when the car hits 40 and then off when it goes below 40. safety thing i gusse.

i was watching this review of DSC and DTC on TV. They tested the BMW 3, and Jag X-type. The info was given on the show and my next service appointment I asked my dealer and they told me that was correct. If the DSC,DTC light is on (saying it is off) they car will turn it on at 40 but the light will still stay on.

Brilliant, thanks.

I wanted to know as my 335D seems to like this little light a lot on the wet roads we have at the moment and I wanted to be sure that it would work at higher speeds.

MY Problem is that I turn DTC off and I take a sharp turn, floor the gas, and the DTC comes on anyway with the flashing DTC light.

I thought this might be because my E90 335i is an Automatic vs. Manual, but I tried the same thing with my buddy's 02' M3 and the same thing happened.

What Gives?

So with DTC it's not possible to smoke my tires? I'd love to take some turns and fishtail, slight drift (even though I have auto). I mean, even my IS300, before this was able to get a little sideways......

Am I just out of luck with DTC and an Automatic with my BMW?

when you turn off dtc and dsc by holding the button for like 5 seconds, the car gets a bit of wheel spin and gassing the corners makes the tail kick out

So the car is programmed to completely shut off the DTC when I hold the button for 5 seconds?

I'll try it after I get off work.
