Wow, that sucks.

Did you pay with a credit card via PayPal? If so you can file a dispute/chargeback directly with your CC company. If you paid with a debit card, some banks will allow you to do this as well.

If none of these apply you may try contacting PayPal directly and letting them know what happened. They may be willing to work with you, given the circumstances.

That's happened to me before. Coolant is mixed with water and water will eventually evaporate, even in a closed system, causing the level to drop. I wouldn't be too concerned about it yet. Just add distilled water and keep an eye on it. When the light keeps coming on and there's no indication of low coolant, that's usually a sign that the water pump is going.

I've already exhausted all my options with PayPal. I called and talked to them and explained that the piece didn't even ship until weeks after I had paid for it, but apparently that doesn't matter. The date the transaction was made is all that matters. And, no I just used my bank account. Lesson learned. From now on, all PayPal stuff gets paid with my AMEX.

This is one of many reasons that PayPal needs to be regulated. They love to act like a bank and collect interest off of your PayPal balance, but look the other way when they may actually need to be accountable for something.

Have you talked to your bank? Not an attorney but it seems to me like this could technically be considered a type of fraud (i.e. misrepresenting an item, and sending you an item that was not what you ordered).

Not sure whether the amount you paid for this would be worth it, but you could also just pay an attorney $100 to write them an angry letter. Sometimes that's all it takes.

If not, it can join my hood and trunk for the target practice shootout day, lol.

No, I haven't but at this point it's probably too late. It's really not worth the headache to me, worst case scenario I'm out $250. Thanks for the suggestions though!

Yeah, I understand not wanting to waste any time on it at this point. But I'm adamant about shit like this -- I don't want a company to have any money that they don't deserve ($5 or $5,000). I'd make it a personal hobby to get my $250 back, or make their lives as miserable as possible if they refuse to do the right thing. It's sort of a problem of mine, haha.

Just to give you guys an update I got a PM from JL Motoring requesting more pics and offering to make it right. Apparently they didn't get my email asking for a refund the first time I'll keep you posted.

Riiiight.

I'm all about giving people the benefit of the doubt but that's just obvious. Lol

Glad they're willing to work with you though! Hope you get it sorted out quickly.

Mine was giving me that indicator and slowly losing coolant when I got it, with no visible signs of it leaking, and I had it in Classic 4 times for them to fix it.

The first time they just topped it off, the second time they topped it off again and said they did a pressure test, which checked out OK, the third time they replaced the cap and topped it off, the third time they said there was a huge air bubble in the system and that they removed it and topped it off again, which made me give my SA the "are you high?" face and I stopped taking it back for that issue, I just topped it off myself every few months.

The first time I took it to an indy shop, after it was out of warranty, for something completely unrelated, they told me the radiator drain was a little loose and that they had tightened it up for me. I haven't had any issues since, and that was 38k miles ago. So yeah...check that. :P

Had to take it to Moritz in Arlington to get it fixed.

Morale of story - don't get your alignment done by Classic BMW in Plano.

Try Cobb in Plano or just about anyone except classic BMW.
