Passenger and rear seats, you have to unplug the passenger seat but if you have a JB4 you can clear those codes with a menu command. Otherwise you would need a BT cable.

Front seat is 85lbs, rear is 60lbs. Combine that with running less fuel and it's around 200-250lbs less than full weight.

I ran the car this weekend at the 1/8th mile, prep was awful but I was still running 7.6x @ 93-94mph. Ran on the road when I left (Vbox times) and got an 11.6 @ 116 (must have hit the brakes right at the 1/4 mile) and 11.7 @ 118.4. This is with the seats out, low fuel, FBO + Meth and running the back-end flash with E65 fuel.

Why would you remove your seats? Not a realistic idea of what you run in street form, every day, someone pulls up next to you and boom!

This is a common practice in drag racing. GTR people do it, everyone does it. Just trying to get the best time possible. Same reason people run race gas.

Ok So i ran again last night...came away with some good experiences!

Weather was good, around 60 degrees, perhaps 55 by the last run, humidit was so-so.

running e50, map 7, mods are in sig. FBO. XDrive at 3950 pounds with me in the car.

First run. 12.4 @ 109.9
1.72 60'
Launched well, no spin, did what i had to do, shifting between 5500 and 6000.

learning that i need to hit the shift button earlier! lag between actuality and real shifts. i will test this out on the street with the JB4 shift light feature

Run #2, i tried to launch the car like crazy, building almost 10 psi at the line, spun my tires and got the dreaded DME interference...now i see what you guys talk about! My car was at stock boost the whole run still cut a 1.74 60'
ran a 13.2 @ 100 lol.

I prepped the car lowering my crappy run flats to 30 psi for the next run, i will try 25 or 20 next time i go!

Run #3, this was my best,
I didn't want to spin my tires so i tried to "gently" launch. brake boosted a bit, and from my JB4 log it seems as if i launched around 1700-1800 with 1.6-1.8 psi of boost.
Cut a 1.74 60', which i can improve upon, since i ran a 1.68' last week and mis-shifted and got DME interference, maybe i spun my tires?

Anyways, from my logs i shifted into 2nd at 5800, 3rd at 6000, 4th at 5500. Boost started around 19-20 psi in each gear but dropped off to 16 psi by 5000 timing was so-so, around 10 degrees average, could have been better. By 5500rpm in 4th gear boost was 15, timing a weak 10 degrees. IAT started out at 107, ended up at 131 by the end of the run.

So my time was 12.32 @ 110.3 , which i believe is the N55 XDrive record.

Any feedback or comments? Any better ways to launch the n55 xdrive in 1st gear? 20 psi? 25psi? i can't launch 2nd, that doesn't work! engine malfunction code, ZING! limp mode. lol

Just wondering; when you do these runs is your traction completely off?

Yes. Trac totally off.

Another guy above talks about how his "trans turns off" if he spins at the start.

i'll take 12.3 @ 110.3 with a mediocre 60'. will keep dropping pressure in the tires and try for a 1.6x or 1.5x

No I didnt log it, I wish I would of

Im still on the conti runflats too but I wasnt getting any spin.

What is the "go-to" launch for x-drive? 2nd or 1st gear and trac on or off. I tried both but only was able to get in a couple of runs because of how busy they were.

I tried with it both on and off (1st gear) but couldnt break 1.9 for my 60'

I did stall it up and it seemed to have what I could best describe as a 2-step at 2500rpm. Is this part of my Cobb tune or what was happening? Or are my Conti Run Flats holding me up?

Also I was in Drive Sport and let the car shift...

Those are some solid numbers, work on your launch and you'll be mid 11s. Crazy mph! i'm jealous

thinking with the diff lockdown kit, and some better traction less wheel spin along with upgraded turbos this car could be a low 11 second car with the potential for that 10.9(might be optimistic) being that my car was just spinning during this run and no real weight reduction was done along with half a tank of gas car has more room to grow

So I went drag racing last Wed...learned a lesson NOT to hold onto my shifter when launching!

I launched pretty hard, built up 5-10 pounds of boost before i let off, car hooked up and went, so i held on to the shifter when i got thrown back into my seat, and in the process yanked the shifter backwards and shifted into 2nd ((((((

Anyways, more to come in 2 weeks, better weather and attempting to shift into 5th gear!

Anyone care to help me get a faster timeslip?

I am running an auto 335xi, JB4, DCI, and 4 gallons e85. (w/o e85 best time is 13.001)

I rev it to about 2k and gogogogo. I shift when the JB4 flashes my blinkers, sometimes slightly before now that I am learning my rpm bands. This is my fastest (and first!) time tonight. I hoped to improve it but didnt break 13 all night...

my MPH seems low, yet my 60ft seems really good. What can i improve on?
