Water in my spoiler!!! Help!!!
Ok so, Vorsteiner ended up making me a fiberglass bootlid spoiler because I kept complaining about fitment.
When I wash my car, water gets into the spoiler because I can hear it splashing around \when i open and close my trunk. By the way, it is Betalinked, so there is no removing it. Also, when I open the trunk, small amounts of water drip from the top of the spoiler. What should I do? I was thinking of removing the lining behind the trunk and maybe drilling some sort of hole big enough to allow some hot air in. Thanks in advance! |

Do you have pics of the spoiler you can show us? Maybe we might have suggestions as to what to do.
First suggestion, drive as fast as you can to dry it out. If that doesn't work go back to previous request.

No pics right now....But the spoiler is not really flush with the top of the trunk...its like it "sitting" on the trunk just a bit. That is obviously how its getting in......Maybe I can use some sort of sealant?

Hard to tell, I definitely need to see what you're talking about. However, if its getting under the spoiler then I would definitely find a way to make it flush.

probably not a good idea. if you seal it the air gap inside will not have room to breath and will expand to the point where it will 'crack' the paint. it should have 'small' breather holes on the bottom and the lowest point and leave some of the mounting (glue) gapped on the rear to let the water drain away if it does get in. as for removing it....nothing a little fine fishing line & elbow grease wouldn't take care of. |

Also, a fishing line would remove Betalink? I could see that happening for double sided tape...in fact...that is how I removed it the first time, except i used a thin rope... |

When you're washing it, take a leaf blower and make an effort to blow around it. You're probably going to get a stream of water coming out. Temporary remedy, but it's a remedy nonetheless.

It should. For whatever is left, I've never had to do it myself, but I see 3M Adhesive Remover recommended time and time again for removing stuff like Betalink.
