VP.. Will we leave our Logic7 head units coded as logic 7 as the DA2 needs a fiberoptic input or do we need to code it to HIFI?

Thanks

Or a handful of amps that most aren't ponying up the coin for anyway.

Any updates Ken? I would not mind using this to replace my L7 amp. Wouldn't use/need the EQ or any other features, and use it just as D/A interface between HU and MS-8.

I'm a bit lost, is there any benefit of swapping my L7 amp with this one if I only plan on adding an extra 10" subwoofer to the trunk?

Nope. Our 10" PnP subwoofer/amp package doesn't use it, for example.

Thank you. I tried e-mailing you guys through the website around a month ago. If you can PM me with a price if you have a chance. I have some extra JL 10W6V1's kicking around (rated at 300w rms), would like to add one to the trunk. Looking for SQ and to boost the bass from the existing system. I need a way to tap into the existing system, enclosure, and if I can get prices with/without an amp.

Thank you kindly.

Car is a 2006 325i Sedan, Logic-7.

Here is a link to the user manual, in case anybody cares.

DA2 Manual

I found this interesting:
The BMW systems feature a 7 band equalisation. This feature
is available on all the entire DA Series systems. The DA2
Series will allow a full +/- 12dB range.
Although there are only 7 points in the BMW system, the
DA2 Series features a 31 band equalisation
for which the
BMW system is spread across so in effect compliments
the 31 band equalisation system that can be user defined.
The BMW system also has three DSP settings that can be
utilised. The user can select a different DSP setting through
the radio and then adjust the equalisation curve for this
particular setting. The DA2 Series will save these settings
according to the current DSP selection. This in effect gives
the user three different equalisation curves that can be
called upon demand which is something that the factory
system does not offer.
31 bands of equalization? Really?

Well, I put the audio analyzer on it to see wht that meant exactly... That's when I found that the eq function is still buggy. I can't comment on what it really does yet.

I think he mentioned somewhere that its only working in Toslink out mode. In toslink, its working fine. I'll check the analog outputs this weekend.

TMR, how's that Arc PS8 working out for you?

The analog output works. But the initial beta units did not have an acceptable level of fidelity using the analog output.

I have received a second beta, and this unit has an analog output which tests fine in the output tests I've performed. This is a hand-modified proto, not a released production unit.

Now I'm waiting for one with new firmware which will properly exercise the 7-band EQ (as the manual mentions). This isn't working properly in firmware, what happens to the analog output doesn't correspond to what the EQ UI says should be happening.

As stated before ( must have slipped your mind ) im using the Rane 26z and its working great. I just dont like the size of it which is why i will be switching over to the PS8 when it becomes available. Not to mention all my amps and subs are Arc anyways. Lets hope you get this new firmware unit soon to see what this DA2 really has to offer.

Its still not 100% but at least they are working on it still and still in business unlike motuslabs. The AGW looked like much better hardware and the eq/xover built in worked well on my 2007 but they never got around to fixing it for the later cars. But so far, mObridge has been doing a great job trying to get this right and working great. The DA1 ive been running for 6 months is great with the PDC beep being too loud as the only downfall. Right now, the DA2 is the same but the gong and PDC beeps or bongs are to loud as well.

Yes, any updates? Otherwise, to use a non-MOST amp/DSP I'll need to run an RCA from the head unit to the amp in the trunk (and recode the Logic7 to HiFi)?

Ive been testing a few Da2's. Working great. It converts from factory amp to 8 sets of full range RCA's. Sounds great. None of the EQ functions working yet, but it'll get you RCA's to your amps.

Excuse the amp mess. Ive literally gone through over 10 sets of amps in the past few months. Trying to find the perfect amp for my setup.
