here is a photo of the conversion half way through on an E90 ... left side is the new white LED, right side is original lighting

I know this thread is a bit old, but is it possible to just change the numbers on the gauges (mph, tach/rpms, gas + oil temp) to white and then leave the information screen + needles amber?? I'm trying to go for imitation M gauges... Details would be greatly appreciated

would you just change the led's behind the numbers & leave the oem central one for the needles? i might just buy replacement m3 needles since they're orange/red to begin with + then led upgrade everything to white (except the info screen in the center)

HA thats not $400 worth of labor when the DIY is posted. Even the most mechanically challenged can at least take the cluster out and get to the main board. Take it to an electrical shop and buy the cheap LEDs and have someone solder them on for less than $100 if you don't know how to solder.
