Yup finally on! I did purchase a different set of BBS CH with a lot less of an aggressive fitment in the rear. Quote:

I haven't gone to Vivid either, I have heard good things about Goodspeed, but I had all my previous car work done at Forced Air Technologies, love them. I haven't brought the 335 down yet, since I am CPO I have had Scottsdale do all my service work.

I'm considering selling the wheels now actually. They are M6 reps and the gunmetal portion has begun chipping. Considered painting but I'm just not in love with any solid color. I want to keep fronts machined silver but to mask that off is cost prohibitive. |

I'm confused on the timing of the event. The show is on Friday (4/20) and then there is a track even Saturday(4/21) Why does it it say it's until Sunday the 22nd.... scattered thoughts, what day is the meetup itself where everyone parks there cars, I want to do the tracking even on Saturday the 21st but thinking it might conflict with something. Also hypothetically speaking if I get a caravan going there it's a 6 hour drive. Should be drive there during the day on Thursday (4/19)? I'm assuming that would be the best idea... Maybe we can meet up with another caravan NM or TX... Last edited by AllydNYC; 02-14-2012 at 05:08 AM.. |

It's been well documented that Vivid had a shady operation going on several years back. I came from the Supra community, but know of several people who have been screwed over, or have experienced terrible customer service from Vivid. I'm not sure how they are doing as of recent, but their past reputation is enough for me to stay away. It's hard to get respect back in the aftermarket/tuning community when you have burned so many bridges. Just IMO.

+1 ^ I have heard the same things but didn't chime in since I haven't dealt with them. They must be doing ok if they are still around

Not to discredit them, I'm sure they have plenty of happy customers, BUT they do have a bad rep for more reasons than one. I'm sure you guys know Hennessey Performance out of TX, the guy that does all the Viper turbo builds, etc. Well he gets a lot of magazine coverage, and testimonials from celebrity people who can afford his outrageous pricing; but among the car community, his reputation has been somewhat tarnished because of some extremely shady stuff he has (or people who work for him) have done to customer cars. Things like selling parts off customer cars, using used parts, but saying they are brand new, switching parts between customer cars without their knowledge, etc. He will continue to garner attention as long as he pours his resources into the big projects for magazine coverage, and hooking up celeb vehicles. Vivid was kind of the same way, gets alot of attention from the Tuner magazines, so it gives the consumer the impression that "Hey, these guys build awesome cars, so they HAVE to be good!" Not so much. |
