Quick question 335 6MT
Hi guys i was just wondering when at full throtle you shift from first to second what rpm do you guys start second gear at?
Sometimes i have the feeling that car is under 5 second 0-60 Other times i feel it over. I have modded CDV. Plz share your info! I drive E92 335 6MT Sport, Premium, Navi, etc WITH 19 inch option, im saying that because maybe the 19 are slowing me down or something. Just wanna make sure nothing is wrong with my car. |

It be must your Navigation...I have an E90 6MT with everything but Navi and active cruise and my car always pulls very hard and I have unmodified CDV. It has been high 90's with high humidity here in FL...outside temp according to my car has been around 101-102 degrees and it will light 2nd without too much trouble. I haven't been paying attention to what RPM's i'm running but I'll check next time.

Well, based on the gear/RPM chart I'm putting together, you should be somewhere between 4000 and 4500 RPMs in 2nd when shifting from 1st at redline (7000.) In 1st at 7000 RPM, you should be going roughly 44 MPH. 4000 RPM in 2nd is roughly 42 MPH and 4500 is roughly 48 MPH.
A 0-60 run only requires the 1-2 shift, since you'll be at 5800 RPM roughly at 60 MPH in 2nd. Now, if you shift at 6000 RPM from 1st to 2nd (where the stock power curve starts to die off), you'll be going 38 MPH. In 2nd gear, 38 MPH is roughly 3500 RPM and you still pull to 60 MPH in 2nd gear since you're still on the power curve. This of course assumes that my gear/RPM chart is accurate.....
