Full Maintenance Warranty for $1400
Is it worth the money to get the full maintenance warranty for an additional 2 years / 50k milages for $1400 from BMW? The warranty only covers oil change, brakes, the typical....no engine components.

It depends on how you drive. I didn't think about it until I realized I'm hitting 17K miles in nearly a year. So I would be done w/ the standard warranty in about three years.
However, they charged me nearly 2K.

I don't think I will be getting it. I drive 99% highway... so my cbs says that I won't need brakes for 80k miles!!! That would put me well over 100k miles. If I was confident it would include a full brake job, I would probably do it for $1400.

This is the maintenance contract, not the extended warranty?
I have 2,600 miles on mine, and I'm inclined to roll the dice. I'd want to change the oil more frequently than BMW recommends anyway. I have a relatively tame German car shop nearby if I can't figure out how to change an air filter or something.

that is a cheap price IMO, But I passed on the Maint. plan and ext warranty.
But I have a 06 CPO so I have a warranty till 3/2012 or 100K miles, I just hit 50k 3 days ago. But it just had oil change, brake fluid change, micro filter, rear pads, wiper blades and new tires put on it b4 I bought it. Only thing is the front pads, but I am going to try and do them myself. PS how Accurate are the brake pad sensors on the OBC?

As far as I have been told... the maintenance contract includes brakes.

Maintence Contract
I bought the maint contract specifically for the Brakes; the front rotors and pads were changed at 55,000 and the rears at 65,000. And I got a free service II at 65K. Thus I made out on the big time on the maint contract.

I bought the extended maintenance mainly for the brakes too. Dealer offered it for $995.00 when I bought the car back in May 2007.

I picked up my car with extended maintenance on 07/05 and I now have 60,5XX miles on the car. It is due for a brake job. Not sure if all pads/rotors will be replaced but I am glad I purchased the extended maintenance plan.
I tried to take some pics of my rotors (First 3 pics are the right side front and last pic is right side rear), but I think it was a major fail. Check them out anyways... Danny

Don't waste your money. Find a good indy shop to do the maintenance from now on.
