Electric guitar recommendations $1K budget
Guys,
I am looking to get back into an electric guitar. I love playing the blues and tried out a strat, and loved the sound! However, I wanted to get any other recommendations before I pulled the trigger. I've also heard good things about G&L guitars. I I would also prefer to buy new. Thanks. |

Try to get an American made Fender. MIJ's are great. Build quality can be hit or miss with the mexican or korean builds.
Also, don't skimp on a good amp. That's really half the tone. I've spent well over 15k on my guitar setup. |

Find a Paul Reed Smith Mira that is used. I have a Mira LTD and it is wonderful. I agree though........a good amp will make or break you.

Guitars all sound different, play different, and feel different...you just have to try them all out until you find something that you feel comfortable playing that sounds good...i like to play a lot of alternative like Chili Pepper songs and the Jackson was easiest for me and sounds awesome, the metallic sound you can't get from anything else...also the frets are a little wider making it easier for me to hit the notes without botching the strings

I have a Texas Special USA Strat that I love... However, don't forget about Telecasters! I got a '52 reissue that just plays like butter. A little more versatile too. But a Strat on the bridge pickup does have "that" sound. Both guitars through any fender tube amp will sound ace. Blues deluxe combo here. Some might disagree, but watch eBay... You can score some great deals. I paid $700 for my Strat and it was like new.
