A rather clean E46!!!

Yeah, I know we all know what an E46 looks like, but just had mine cleaned and thought the results were pretty good. It's not had a proper 'detail' or anything like that but a thorough clean and polish/wax.

I think more to the point is that even though you may be forced into downgrading your motor it doesn't necessarily mean you need to completely slum it (too much) as long as you're patient and purchase wisely (that said I just dropped lucky with this one).

I honestly think this car is brilliant and ticks so many boxes; practical, economical, sounds great, comfortable, fairly rapid, still looks good (IMO). It's an 03 plate car which just past 74k on the clock yesterday. Don't really see myself changing it anytime soon (though am always on the look out; the Z4M really has challenged me though ).

The results...
...and yes that GT is pretty gastly.

Heh. I first read your post and at a glance thought you said "And yes, that GT is pretty..."

Then I read the last word.

Agreed 100%. And I was scared for a sec there

hahaha

Your car looks clean dude IF your going to keep her for any length of time then you do need to get modding though

Always good to get a decent valet done prior to trading in - helps maximise the offer.

What's the price to change to the Z4M?

Looking great Rog, all ready to put up for sale! I agree that the E46 still cuts the mustard with todays more modern offerings.

Man, I can't fooking believe it. Went to look at a 325ci last week for the Miswah and she ''didn't like it''.

She looks at these pics and think yours is lovely. I said

''its exactly the same as the Grey 325ci we looked at for you''....

''It looked dirty in Grey''
IT WAS FACKIN' dirty bitch thats why

Thanks for your comments chaps (and Helen ).

Yes, I seem to have dropped a little lucky with this car, it's not flawless, but at the price I paid (and it's age & mileage) I'd be foolish to expect anything else.

A few very minor paint chips which could easily be recified. Leather showing it's age but really isn't too bad (a client who supplies leather warranty/repair packs for sofas has got a packet of stuff for me that should help). The carbon trim on the door handles is pretty worn but really not worth £300ish to replace.

Had to put a new battery in a few weeks ago (replaced the original so just bad timing on my part), shoved some oil in the other day and the fuel filler cap broke yesterday which will be easy to replace once I find the part (will post a piccy up tomorrow as I'm struggling to find one - when you push the cap it flips out or push it again and it stays in - it's the clicker thing the cap leans against that's broke; if that makes sense).

I've even taken to turning the stereo off as I'm enjoying listening to the engine (must be missing my 350Z) and smoothness of the engine/chassis.

So, E46 330i or Z4M, no contest is it, the Z4M all day just think I'll have to be patient a little while longer.

Not many

Year of birth (2 digits) and initials (2 letters). Unfortunately I don't have a middle name as that extra letter would have save me quite a bit of money .

Would look good on a Z4M .
