Be Careful with KW
Funny title becuase that is exactly what I thought I was doing when tightening my spring pearch retaining screw on my KW V1 coilovers. The strut bearing had been popping so I took the whole assembly apart today to double check the fitment and when I put it back together I was trying to tighten the set screw and wouldn't you know it was stripped. Short story be careful on those from shocks. Got 2 on the way gonna run me $60 with overnight shipping. Like they say you gotta pay to play!

Do they come with any sort of warranty? Either way, KW or the vendor should take care of you. Not sure if either will, but they certainly should as that would be what I call "good business". Good luck and let us know how you make out...

I have it on for about 2 months or so and haven't had any problems with it, but then who know in the future, but all I know is that I haven't heard anyone that has FKs installed for a extensive time period complain about them.

This sucks guys. Makes me glad I went with BMW Performance.
It seems like people are quick to say that coilovers are better than a spring/damper setup, but now this makes me wonder which is truly better.

I feel like I wasted 1450 dollars on equipment and install Even if **********s game me new ones I'd still have to pay for installing the new ones so I lose either way!

I would have say "AMEN" to your statement if my VMR713 8.5" et35 wheel didn't require 5mm spacer to give clearance and not rub with the FK spring.

Yeah but if you purchased the FK Silverline X plus, I think it would have cleared, plus having a rim rubbing is not really a problem with the coilovers but the fitment of the rim...

I've had my V1's for ~1 year and have nothing but good things to say about them. The onlly noise they make is the first time I apply brakes after the car has sat over night, after that....nothin.
VERY happy with mine. As I'm writing this I'm also knocking on my wooden desk |

There are many members on this forum with KW coilovers that have VMR wheels with the same offset as mine and they don't need spacers in the front wheels. BTW, my car is not slammed.

My KW v1 started making a strange noise from the right front tire area.....at least I think its the coilover.
At first I thought it was the tire....but its not. It only makes noise when there are changed in the road or I go over something , like a man hole over. I wonder what my problem is... |

Have had my V3s for over a year now and they've performed beautifully so far. Even did a 4000 mile road trip in January and no probs. And I live in DC, where the streets just flat out suck and no probs. My car is slammed, too. lol

well look at it this way...they have KWs and VMR rims and have problems, you have to add 5mm spacer to make it work and have no problems!! I think your situation is much better IMO

Same thing happened to me on install, finished the rear driver side and tightened everything. Moved on the passenger side and was tightening the bottom nut on the strut and with barely and pressure it stripped.... had to cut off the nut with a dremel and take it to a machine shop to rethread.
Tried putting a claim in with KW but doesn't look like thats going anywhere. |

lol... I guess i'm the newest member to have installed V1s.. so far so good.... but you guys make me worry a little and that I should have just save the few hundred bucks on FK silverline X... and that few hundreds bucks could have been used toward my next toy, the mtech rear!
