i drive option?

just a quick Q...

how much does having i drive put on the value of a used 4-5 year old E90 be it from a trader or private seller?

Dont know about how much it would add but for me it would be a must if only for resale purposes.

im looking at two options...

1) Black BMW 320D SE, 56 plate, 89k miles with FSH and has idrive... wants £9k

2) Silver BMW 320D SE, 55 plate, 70k miles with FBMWSH... wants £8.6k

which one is a better deal bearing in mind mileage, age and extras???

none have leather or sports extras.

#1 - you will enjoy the car much more with the iDrive and I reckon the extra 16k on the clock wouldn't matter that much.

Does #1 have full BMWSH?

The dealer will have you believe that iDrive is worth £1,000 on a second hand car (or at least when he's trying to sell you the option on a new one). However, that means you have also lost £1,000 having bought it! But you will have had the use of it. Depends if it is of value to you. I would say that iDrive 2 is now causing more interest amongst second hand specs and values.

All the glass's guide prices assume a minimum of:

Pro nav (i drive)
Leather
Metallic paint

But its hard to know how much it will reduce by, you could argue at least a grand off for no leather or pro nav IMO.

BTW - coupes (all models) also assume 19" wheels or £1000 less for 18"

its got full BMWFSH upto the one before the last one.

the last one was an oil service and was done at a dealership but was ford or vauxhall cant remember!

my preference is black 320 with i drive but the silver one has done 20k less and is cheaper!

I think the decent M sport seats and leather are a higher priority than idrive unless you can get them cheaper yourself

I would go for the idrive if your going to add in the relevant M Sport extras

I don't have it but seen as there so similarly priced you might as well get it if the condition/history is the same.
