We came up to the intersection, with him in front, making a right turn. Soon as I made the turn I moved to the other lane to pass him, he immediately jumped on the throttle very aggressively to keep me from passing him. Even though my car was only running a tune (113mph traps), he couldn't stop my pull by the time I already had 2 car lengths on him. Sure suprised the heck out of him. After that, he wouldn't even get next to me! From my experience. It isn't often that I even encounter a car on the road that actually beats me in the 335i. And yes, even though the sedan is tune only on 91 pump, it will be getting much faster very soon. I am having so much fun with the 4 door, because it is a true sleeper, and the exhaust is quieter than the coupe.
Great response Hotrod!

Yep, mine is the 4-door too. You are correct. That makes it even more interesting. lol!

Funny thing is. I don't get as many people reving at me and wanting to race in this car as I have with...03 04 Cobras...GTO..SS Camaro..WS6...or Corvettes have owned in the past.

This car seems to fly under the radar. Once they challenge you. hhahahahahha....PRICELESS!

Absolutely. Even if you are in a Corvette, etc, there is always going to be someone faster than you. So why not have more fun and beat the people that don't think you can beat them.

Even if you give the guy in the faster "sports car" problems with your low profile family sedan, he is the one that will probasbly be enjoying it less than you are. I have literally seen these guys scratching their heads thinking: WTF just happened?? Then they go home and tell their friends. I heard it first hand from when I raced a tuned 500+ WHP Supra one late night. Word got back to me about how startled he was to be beat by a stock looking 335i !

Okay, so lined up with a Black SRT8 Challenger for about 3 runs from a stop, and a couple roll-ons. He would sometimes get a jump, but wouldn't pull at all. And if I got the jump from the start, he couldn't catch me. But damn, the thing seemed pretty fast. I thought I would take him. It was then that I noticed the supercharger whine. Kind of like a terminator, but not as shrill. When we came to a stop and talked, I realized it was the same guy that was dynoing his car where I buy my meth. He had just put the blower on a couple of months ago. Must have been a roots style blower, or Maggie. No wonder!

But this is what its all about. He thought I was easy prey. Then when he found out my car was just as quick as his, he was wondering WTF. He did have a passenger. But he also had twice the displacement and not twice the weight obviously. In fact after the 2nd race, we rolled down our windows and the passenger said "damn, that car is pretty fast!" Not bad for JB3/DCI, 91 octane, full weight.

Now if I was driving a Corvette and beat him, it wouldn't have been half the fun!

Garage List
The OP should save a few hundred pounds and a few thousand dollars and start with a 135. Turbo upgrades and then fuel upgrades should be out soon to guarantee an easy 500-550 whp sleeper. The main disadvantage of a 135 vs 335 is there are way fewer aftermarket wheels that fit Ones.

Definitely envy the weight savings of the 1 series. I also think the 1 series launches better than the coupe. Maybe it has a shorter wheel base and is higher off the ground??

Even if it had 1500 whp on the 1 series, it still couldn't outrun the ugly on it.

If you have the itch for power, go with the Vette.

You can spend 5-6 grand on an 08 and make 530whp and run 10s.

Nope, trans works fine, as can be seen in all the videos that I took afterwards in the de-mod process running without nitrous. Not one hiccup. I thinks its normal torque management when you are putting over 500rwtq through it. Just goes into fail safe (3rd gear). But I was just using a manual pushbutton. So I would like to see how members with the progressive setup do performance numberwise.

Okay, here is the video of my car running full weight, 91 oct+meth, 118.4mph qtr. When I was in the process of returning it to stock. Stock RFTs, etc. Do you see anything wrong with the shift that I could complain to a dealer about??

And there is no way it is going to act up under stock HP levels such as in this run:

Dealership definitely wouldn't see anything wrong with those shifts.
(The shift at 100mph is when I used to have problems when spraying)

I thought it would be interesting to see how the sedan does in the step by step mod process. But more importantly, I am thrilled at the sleeper status of a sedan. Doesn't attract the wrong kind of attention.

Different strokes, different folks.

I personally find a stock pre-LCI e90 to be a fairly boring looking car. Not exciting to me at all.....so even if its fast, still not my cup of tea.

Isn't your A/F a little lean in the mid to high 13s? Boosted cars are more safe in the low to mid 12s. I run high 11s, low 12s but my motor makes 850hp.

The GS with the Heritage package is hot!!!! Vararam CAI, FAST 102 w/ matching 102 TB, LT headers, Cam, and a dyno tune and you have a monster.

I've seen the M6 GSs dyno 390-395 off the showroom floor.

With the above mods you would have about 500 rwhp. Add a shot of spray and 600+ when needed.
