N54 Performance Exhaust Installed - Not so loud?

Hey all,

So over the weekend I had an PE installed on my 09 E92 335i. Everything else is stock, minus Cobb Accessport.

I'll be honest, I haven't heard one in person prior, just through youtube video's online. From all the video's I had seen, it sounded like it was really loud.

Now that I have it installed, its actually VERY quiet (compared to what I was expecting). It does sound great, but was just hoping it would be a little louder.

I was thinking of taking out the secondary cats in the "catback" portion of the exhaust piping. Will that help make the exhaust louder?

*EDIT* -- also want to add that I do NOT want to do downpipes. I don't want to go through the hassle of downpipes.

Let me know what you guys think, thanks!

***********

UPDATE:

Okay so I got the secondary cats removed and installed new exhaust tips
The sound is much louder now, although may be a bit louder than I'd like now lol
Thinking of going back to the secondary cats possibly

Here's a vid I made:

Hi Najeeb

DPs would definitely help! It'll also free up some power.

thanks for the response!

however, i should have mentioned above that I'm not wanting to do downpipes. Car is plenty fast for me for the time being, and budget is limited, just want a LITTLE more loudness. More concerned if removing the secondary cats will help or not.

From what I've heard, you have to let it break-in for a few hundred miles and it should get better (louder)

That is true, if you just installed it. Give it a couple of days and should get slightly louder.

Most video online was recorded outside the car, so it's louder compared to where the driver is.

It's louder from the outside than where the driver sits. Mine sounds very loud when the top is down.
Go under an over pass or a tunnel, drop it into 2nd or 3rd, and rev it. You will smile!

Installing a dci and IC changed the note of my exhaust a bit, maybe this would help?

What tips do you change to, and what were they previously?
