Not a great start to a sunny weekend, got a NIP in the post, not clear what the offence is, verbatim it states

"In accordance with Section 1 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988, I hereby give you notice that it is intended to take proceedings against the driver of the above vehicle for the alleged offence of Motor vehicle fail "comply with red / green arrow / lane closure flashing light signals - automatic equipment (automatic camera device/speed/detection service) travelling at 43mph on 29/03/14 in A27 Sompting-by- Pass, J/W Upper Brighton Road, Lyons Farm, Worthing, United Kingdom at 14:52 hours""

I checked out the speed limit at Lyon's Farm, it is 40mph, so I assume it is not for speeding but for jumping a light or something ? I remember following a Merc at Amber on that trip, I assume this might be a reason ?

Is TS10 more severe than SP30 Insurance wise ? Could anyone please advice ?

Prob the traffic light ... and yes, traffic signal offences are not liked by the insurers compared to speeding.

I have a TS10 as I was late on a red light (7am, nothing else around me, wasn't intentional etc etc) - it's not effected me too badly but yes probably more so than an SP30. I tried the usual, show me proof it was me and my car trick. The Police said yes of course, we will show you the pictures.... when you attend court. I backed down and took my medicine.

lessons learnt for the next time I guess, I asked for pics nicely, I've been told I should be sent some shortly, will see how that goes
