Can you get paint colour from VIN?
Long story short, my rental car decided to roll into one of our neighbours cars (typically, the ones we never speak to!). It was their daughters car who lives miles away.
Anyway, she's been quoted £650 to repair the bumper. Its an '06 Vauxhall Corsa. So I've asked if I can source my own bumper and she agreed. The thing is, I want to get it painted too as this company is going to charge nearly £350 just for paint. The only detail I have from the car is the reg and the VIN. Does anyone know if its possible to establish the cars paint chip code from these details? |

Check this one. I'm not sure if is paint code next to colour.
http://www.rubmw.ru/vincode/eng/ Or try to call BMW and ask them? They should tell you. |

Yea that's the thing, I don't really want to ask her because I don't want her knowing I'm getting it painted - they are trying it on with the costs I'm sure. So want to deliver a new, correctly painted bumper to get fitted and no complaints.

Thinking I might try a paint shop first, see if they have access to the systems to get the codes possibly... |

Spoke to them a few hours ago. Actually very helpful, Vauxhall are great really. I called up their customer service line. They gave me the paint code and called me back with the exact part number. So yea, very happy with them and the advice here! Thanks fellas
