Oil change at 2K
Hi,
I used to have an E90 M3. It has a scheduled oil change including trans/diff at 2K. Not sure if I should do the same for E90 335 xdrive. There must a reason why BMW suggests to do oil changes at 2k. Anyone? As for my personal experience, shifting and accelerating felt much crisper after the service. Again that's all subjective. D

Regular (non M) vehicles do not require the 2K service at least according to BMW. From what I've seen lots of people on this site do it anyway though. The reason you have to on M's is because they come with break in fluids for the engine, trans (if manual) and diff. Your 335 shouldnt have these and hence the 2K isn't neccassary but won't hurt anything if you do. Note however that your trans probably has a lifetime fluid and shouldn't require any changes, think the diffs the same way.

It seems like the consensus is to change it first at 5k miles, then roughly every 7k thereafter. BMW says to change it every 15k which is ridiculous (especially if you are running a tune.)
