So, which fuses are you removing to have both RWD and no wipers moving? Would you share a picture of your dashboard while running?

tried pulling fuse 26 and 50 on 2008 bmw 335xi, and awd is disabled, this way the wipers won't come on, the only thing is christmas tree ligths up and turn signal is messed etc. i dont know if this does any harm to engine or electronics, just tried it out for 30 min, just put some nice stripes on the road.

LSD? or e-diff?

Also anyone verify if ABS still works with this?

I think LSD.. When your remove the wipers fuse everything doesn't works..
ABS, DTC, the odometer, the AWD systems...

Like douwe22 said the christmas tree lights up..

I don't recommend to remove those fuses for a long period.. just for a little bit of fun!

Sorry I wasn't clear. You're laying down 2 black stripes (if that is you in the video). So I was wondering if you had installed an aftermarket mechanical LSD like wavetrac, and if you haven't whether the e-diff was working or not. In order for the latter to happen ABS system must be functioning, which I think it isn't.

So anyway I was really wondering how you got those 2 black stripes with no e-diff, so must be LSD I guess.

I made no modification to the diff...

OK then that is very interesting. Because I doubt the e-diff system is still working if ABS is gone, or maybe it isn't?

Also I noticed the start of burn outs, almost like front wheels were getting braked separately like on a motorcycle. Do you think that was just the rear pushing against a dead front driveshaft and axles and loading them up a bit?

I hit just a little bit the breaks and after hit the gas and then the rear start to spin easily.... only the rear is working....the front diff is completely disengage.. if I correctly understand your question...

After upgrading VGSG module got Christmas tree of error lights and RWD. Car seemed to shift and pulling up rpms muuuch smoother.
But of course ABS/DSC went down and it's quite unsafe on snowy roads, so I coded VGSG and everything seems fine. But AWD again.
I have a suspicion that AWD eats tons of gas. On the short commutes, my car runs only 200 miles/tank. But on the highway it's up to 400. Could you guys post your mpg just for the reference?

I'm doing 10L/100km (~23 MPG) and usually 75% highway / 25% city

That's not bad.
By the way, I was thinking about ways to have "safe" switch to RWD. When I had my VGSG module unprogrammed, there were errors coming from engine, transmission and dsc. I was wondering if it would be possible to have a different "profile" for engine/tranny/dsc so they would be error free functional with AWD off.

I get well over 30MPG HWY and low-mid 20's combined HWY/town. I live up in the mountains in a small town so not much stop and go stuff.

Interesting about the VGSG module. Have not been following this thread lately.
