Standard Check-up

Do all BMW dealers charge a fee for a check up regardless of whether or not your car is in warranty? If not, does anybody know any dealers in SoCal that do it for free? Irvine BMW wants $150 even though it's under warranty and I'm thinking I might as well get a free quote from Car Max since they do the check up as well (although I don't know how well it's done).

if it is under service warranty they should be doin it for free. this is a separate warranty from the drive train, etc warranty.

my personal feeling on this is...in PA where im originally from we have a yearly inspection which basically does a check up of the vehicle. in TN where i live now there is no such thing-thus if it were up to me id have my vehicle looked over once a year regardless of if its under warranty or not for anything that may or may not be needed-such as alignments or tires(unless the car has more miles on it when other components may need to be replaced)...

If you're going in for scheduled maintenance or a repair, then the won't charge you anything. If you just want them to take it in and look at it with no real complaints, then you have to pay.
