Feeler: 2011 E91 Wagon 6 spd 33k miles awd

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 25,000.00

Location:

Item Interest
This is a feeler. This was probably not the most rational decision, but I just bought a low mileage and 2011 328i xdrive wagon (E91) over the weekend to use as a daily driver / winter car to go with a new M3 that is waiting to be delivered this week. Having two cars might be overkill for one person and two dogs, so hence, the feeler.

Info about the car:

1) I just bought it from the original owner.
2) 33k miles
3) Clean carfax / autocheck
4) 6 speed manual (unicorn!)
5) AWD
6) Brand new front / rear brakes (rotors, pads, indicators). Power steering flush.
7) Overall excellent condition. A couple minor rock chips but that is all I can find.
8) Options: HID lights, heated seats, heated steering wheel, headlight washers.
9) I'm located in Seattle, WA

25k or best offer.

That was fast - what did you end up getting for it?

I'll update you guys on the price once its off my hands. I love this car and it drives really smooth, but I'm realizing its overkill (famous last words) with a new M3 that I'm picking up later today. I might still pick up a used (< 10k) beater for bad weather days.

Sounds like it might have gone to the infamous one....likely to be priced at about $35k.

Also interested in what this car actually went for. I've been toying with the idea of selling mine as of lately as well...

Told ya in my post above! I missed their price by only $1k, LOL. So they're at $9k above his asking price, and knowing EAG they likely low-balled him with their quote to buy it with an immediate wire transfer plus timely pickup.

In hindsight, I'm really glad I didn't settle for a AWD E91 when I was hunting last year since the added weight, useless AWD (for my use) coupled with the very slow steering ratio of the AWD rack (which you can't swap out for any other one given its design located behind the axle centerline) would have made owning that much less enjoyable than the RWD version.

I'm going to be swapping the auto for a 6MT after the first of the year in this E91 since even though it's the only slushbox in the stable, it's horrible not to be able to actually drive this car smoothly and have to deal with the auto box "choices" for gear selection and such.

Good call on EAG.

That's why an E91 M3 is (was?) needed

We would have bought one in an instant for my wife if they made it. I've had the E90 M3 for four years now and love the car. I looked at what it would take to do an E91 M3 conversion since a close friend just built and E46 M3 wagon this year in his shop, but I decided it wasn't worth the time and significant money to create one as it's a good bit more involved than the E46 conversion -- even getting great pricing on used M3 parts from more than one wrecked car, it's just too much time and money for the end product.

I bought an E90 M3 DCT so that my wife can drive it it on weekdays and I can drive it on weekends (when I drive the family around). I like it so much that I was browsing for a 2nd (likely a manual, but the DCT is awesome). However I just happened to find an E91 328xiT manual and bought it. It should be arriving Friday (being shipped)

It also depends on how knowledgeable the shop is.

I had built the first E91 M3 conversion in the US (pictured in my sig) and then sold it to another forum member who completed the conversion with the S65 engine, M3 interior, and added an ESS SC.

Prices should come down overall for donor cars and OEM parts considering my conversion was completed in 2012.

I'm currently working with the same shop on another E91 project with engine, transmission, and interior swap, plus body, and paint.

my views on the inferior x drive as well, definitely NOT an "Ultimate Driving Machine"
