the 335i stock has enough low end TQ, the JB3 OG HB map had what, 345-360WTQ? is that not enough? lol
i aswell can do without the extra PSI and torque downlow, but then again hopefully terry will sell both these maps to give users a choice!

Hey GGreek, congrats on the new map man! dont let that ass sneak up and slide around new found power must be scary
I feel like mailing you my 2nd beta pre v81 chip with high boost map just to see .

ok so after talking with Terry and doing some research here is what i got.

first i didnt yet get the whole story.

the pre 29.2 JB3 OG HB map runs richer across the board compared to the post 29.2 OG High Boost JB3. the post 29.2 OG High Boost JB3 also runs a bit less tq but both run similar boost graphs.

now i didnt ask about the new MAP and the pre and post 29.2 differences yet.
here is what i got.

the new Hight Boost JB3 map:
1.) 1-1.5psi higher down low, which is prob. below 4k rpm.
2.).5 psi lower up top, this is for making more and good power on stock cars with pump gas, since the cars stops or seem to just blow hot air on a stock car at about 15 psi.
seems 14 psi is the sweet spot for a stock car on pump gas.
3.)Stronger IAT decay.

i still want to see graphs with some AFR and boost on a stock car for this new High Boost JB3 map.

just want to add that Terry said the JB3 would increase the boost target up top with intake, downpipes and/or IC.

this seems like a smart way to work around timing retard on pump gas, especially the 91 craptane.

Weird I though the new Hight Boost map was set to run leaner on non 29.2 and richer on 29.2.

that is correct, because the old map ran too lean on 29.2 and too rich on pre 29.2.
which is what SOKO said. (he was talking about the "OG" map, not the new map). Which is consistent with what you said.

wow that chip reminds me of the my E30 and E36 when i replaced the circuit board with a chip similar to the JB3 chip( memories!!)....I had to extract the chip from the Bosch DME and replace it with a performance one! Its a pretty simple task!! Looks awesome!

Thanks sorry for the confusion. If what you say is true it sound to me like we really have no option but to upgrade to the new map.

i didn't mean "too rich" or "too lean" in the sense that it was hurting anything. I was justing trying to clarify the relationships of the 4 different maps to each other. It just sounds like the new map just optimizes performnce gains.

it does sound like the new map does in fact optimize the power and psi, that is a perfect word for it.

i will quote terry later today, but he lowered boost for those with stock cars and pump gas since the extra boost really wasnt doing anything except blowing out air.

but again the JB3 also raises boost and adjust to any performance modification via IC,DP,DCI,CAI or such.
