Hey guys, I have a BMW Performance Exhaust (dualed-out) with a cat delete. You can see pictures in my garage.

It's very loud, louder than stock 335i and/or 335i with aftermarket exhaust IMO.

At 3k-4k rpm, the sound becomes an unbelievable high-pitched roar resembling a screaming V8.
I'm trying to find out a way I can have that same sound at 1k-2k rpm.

What can I do?

2. IF you haven't removed the resonator
3. Cone intake
4. Tune
5. Headers
6. Tune again

Headers is too much, I'm not gonna mess with the engine unless it's installing an intake. Cone intake and tunes you say?

How does that help the exhaust note?

While driving today I noticed the moment when the "heavenly" noise kicks in is at 3.2k rpm... I need that sound at 1-2k rpm !!

Personally I have the OEM flat intake and after market cone intake, just the less restriction of air will make it deeper and I have straight pipes that are 3in from midpipe, y-pipe and eisenmann race muffler, makes my exhaust blow like from a straw (hollow), smaller pipes is like whistling from your lips (more high pitched).

Your exhaust sounds awesome in person, when I heard it at Euro We Go it just made me want to put an exhaust on mines.

But I said I needed the high-pitched sound...

At 1-2k rpm even my full eisenmann exhaust set up won't have that high pitch at low revs, it's only like what you experience 3k and above and WOT. IMO it might look weird at low revs, you want a race sound but aren't going fast.

For higher pitched sounds? Like full on race system? I say maybe muffler delete? But with that lovely sound, comes annoying rasp and rattle :/ the cone intake might just create that sound you want. Yes headers are expensive to fab but it might be more worth it since you like that sound. Try buying from supersprint or mmw. The reason I also recommend the headers because it might just add the sound you're searching for at such low rpms. Not to mention a few extra horses and a full free flowing exhaust

Which one do you recommend? How hard is the install? Labor cost?

I'm looking to sell my car next year, installing headers will lower the value of my car IMO.

For cone intakes, I say afe with the heat shield or maybe the sonomita (idk if its spelled correctly) they're both good from what I hear. I haven't heard anything about injen intakes but those are pretty good as well. You just buy it and it'll take you maybe 20 minutes to install (if its your first time) and its a DIY. You won't have to pay anyone to install it, its a fairly easy task. as for headers, you can always take them off and resell them. People love it but will hop on a used/ cheap set in a quickness. You'll get most of your money back and you can throw your stock headers, cats and exhaust back on like it was never used. The labor, I'm not sure. DIY and its free lol as for a shop, they're expensive...
Difficulty level: 1 being changing your spare - 10 doing a full motor swap alone
Task of installing cone intake: 3( with tools)
Task of installing headers: 8( without lift) 5 (with lift) * both including correct tools

I have the BMW Performance Exhaust which automatically deletes the resonator.
I did the cat delete a couple months ago.

Basically I'm left with the muffler and that's it.

Oh I always though the PE was like the eisennmann exhaust with a resonator. But that is good set up, do you know what size the piping is ?

Intake won't really make the exhaust louder but you'll definitely hear some cabin noise from the intake. Headers will make it too loud and raspy. Not really much you can do at this point since you cut out the secondaries already.
