The painted diffuser will look ok on darker colored cars. Probably the worse on white.

^^ same here

I rather have my tuned N54 over the N55 at this point. It is going to be awhile before they hack the N55 with valvetronic and i'm positive that the bmw engineers put more stuff in it to prevent tampering or detectable right away. They were already doing that with the later revisions of the N54 ecu/software so i can only imagine they did the same with the N55 and 335is.

In Europe the 330d 6-speed manual handles 383 lb/ft or 520 Nm!

Looks at whats becoming of the 3series:
325i
228i
330i
335i
335i (with M package)
335is
M3

(also consider theres xi and multable body styles to complicate this)

From an opperations management point of view, it becomes ineffecitent and costly (for both BMW and Dealers) to produse so many simmilear models. Having more models means more unique parts to design, maintain and stock for a single car (er series). They should consolidate these to 325i (BMW styling w/o sport), 335i (BMW styling w/ sport, and probably the best DD ive driven) and the M3 (Sport, sport, sport, w/BMW styling).

Id rather take a 335i and aftermarket the shit out of it.
In the UK the list is even longer ...

who the fuck cares.....

its a forum. as long as the content is coherent and understandable, than its good enough for most ppl. the point is to share ideas and get dialogue going. if grammer was so important, im sure the forum developers would have integrated a "grammer check" and "spelling check" functionality here..no?

you should be more pissed about people writing like thugs and neanderthals (sp?). For example "moss of dis ppl on dis 4um is wakkked".

anyways, relax!

People with N54s tuned to 400-450 horsepower (and similar torque figures) don't have any problems with the manual transmission, I don't think I've ever come across a story of a single one failing so I'm skeptical about their claims that it can't handle a measly 22 extra horses (and however much more torque).

With only 300hp the 335i is already faster than the Lexus is350, for example, so I can only imagine the beating this version will do to the competition.

Garage List
I just picked up a Space Gray Metallic over Coral Red 335is Coupe. The thing is a monster but I haven't driven a 335i nor an M3 so I am not the best barometer! I plan on mainly exterior mods and don't want to mess with that BMW-tuned engine until more people play with the car.

The car is fully loaded (minus heated seats, active steering and active high beams) on 19" 313s. Pics to follow once I complete the cosmetic work; lowering perches, piano black roof, front blades and front splitter, rear diffusor (only the areas that are flat black) and antenna cover. I have color-matched side markers and trunk lip arriving this week.

I am an industrial designer so I'd like to think I have a decent opinion about form and clean lines. I prefer nearly every angle of the 335is to the M3. No hood bulge, a character line that extends uninterrupted from front to back, and a meaner stance from the rear. There is so much more to say about the car but I have to get back to work!

Brgds,

Jason
