Connecting BT Scan Communication Error, Help please

I am stanidng in my garage trying to get the BTscan towork. I hooked to to the car, then the computer then started the car, then the program.
It did not go to the Customer/Vehicle information box, it went to the choose vehicle one nd after choosing it andgoing to the program there was no information and when I clickon faut codes i get the Communicti0n error unable to connect to this module message. If i click on aything like identification there is nothing there.11
What did i miss or do wrong, does anyone haveany ideas. Thanks

Start the car, then plug it in. I had the exact same problem at first.

I shut the car doen between attempts, and alkso shut the program down. I leave the car running/idling, not just the electrical on, while doing this right?

Problem solved, I had to update the tool while the program and car were running.
Thank you Owen @ Bav Tech support!
