My money was on the 350z that you were looking at on the other forum. I think that you have made the right decision though unless you've got a huge collection of "compact cassettes" and an aversion to postcode based sat-nav.

Don't just give away the NI reg to DVA, it can easily be sold and any NI reg is worth £200 upwards. If its decent why not swap it onto your X3, will cost you the £80 transfer fee but its a very cheap private ageless plate.

+1 on the reg plate - get it valued, might earn you a few hundred quid back
Nice Datsun btw, looks lovely and the right colour for it IMO. Looking forward to seeing it in a few weeks |

I see what you mean about the reg plate so will ask when I get to the DVLA (V5 still in the post so can't tax/reg it yet). Can't be bothered shelling out to put in on retention though, did that before and barely broke even, if I can get it for free then I may as well.
The interior is a huge step-up from the 350Z. That's the first thing that struck me when I test drove on, plus loads more gadgets now as standard. Materials, quality & design much much better. The double-lined hood (i.e. hidden mechanics) also makes a massive difference to the interior feel. As for the power difference, yes, certainly a step-up (still not driven mine yet!!!), but it's odd, the 370Z is much quieter than its predecessor, something a lot of people are addressing with aftermarket exhausts. I suppose it's more grown up. So, you don't necessarily get the feeling of speed as much as before, but you're certainly going quicker - I've not checked the stats...

I can't believe the hood wasn't double-lined in the 350!

Bloody hell it must have felt like standing under an umbrella on a windy day!
Needless to say I've been checking all the national 370z prices since you made your announcement. Cheapest seems to be 22k which is well above my current budget. |

They seem to have got stuck at just above £20k but was one recently (coupe) for £19k for a quick sale. Oh, here it is, at £19,900...
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...69bn?logcode=p A lot of car for thar price (I'd have been tempted myself if this Roadster hadn't appeared). That said, the 350Z is still a belting car, and up to 06 plates (or something) still have cheaper road tax, but even the facelifted bonet-bulge cars (07+) can be had for well under £14k. That was where my money was going until I got carried away.

I think you bought wisely Roger (some benefit to getting older). Your car is already a fair way down the depreciation curve and it is only 6 months old and 1700 miles so you did well. If you chop it in 12 months I suspect you will not suffer that badly at all - good call.
So is it a £460/year road tax job? Mine is coming up next month and it will be painful. |

Very nice for a poser car!
How does it loose 7 months of its life?! Can't see how that works.

Very nice. I had a 350Z before this..they are very quick. 370Z is in a different league..much better built and better interior quality. You might want to join 350Z UK forum..lots of useful info on the forum and peep are really friendly and helpful.
