Curb Rash !!!! dear lord almighty why !!!

so i did my daily review of my car like i do every morning , to make sure my neighbors or little kids hit my car and while i was looking at my tires i noticed this horrible curb rash, i died for a moment then i realized it probably can be fixed cuz most alluminum wheels have a clear protectant, so i did some reasearch and found out u can sand it down but i wanted to know if you guys have done this ? and if its worked? or what other things is there that i can do?

also noticed a giant black line in the bottom of my side skirt most likely road dirt or something i was wondering if you guys had ever sand any sort of black line or scratch away with a fine sand paper? let me know and ideas or experiments you guys have done.

iphone sent so ignore the mistakes.

I know how you feel. I hit a pothole, and thankfully it didn't bend my rim. However, it scuffed my rim. I had it fixed, and the rim looks good. Good Luck.

The black line could just be tar. Try removing it with tar remover first before sanding. Good luck.

I got it fixed at the dealer. They have a mobile repair truck that fixes curb rash. It was something like $75.

You: a) do a daily cosmetic inspection of a car that sits outside and b) think it is somehow proper to sand dirt off of your paint.

You sound like a very reasonable person.
